Ugh, this guy is a nets killer. He is worth like $8mm a year so $6.5mm is very fair for him. Kudos to raptors for bringing everyone back but I scratch my head at them not bringing any new players in to boast their roster. Can't beat the bulls, heat (with LeBron) or nets ( with Brook even though we can't small ball anymore) with that team. Raptors should have looked to add a piece to bolster bench. They should have actually looked to go after Chandler Parsons. Oh well, still will be a very good team next season.

The deal is perfect for a player of Vasquez's ability. He lead the league in total assists the season before. He wasn't healthy when he got traded from the Kings to the Raptors. When he was, he started to produce very well. There have key games one this season because of Vasquez stepping up if someone had an off game.

Also as a poster previously said, it's only 2 years so length wise is perfect.

Frye's deal with Toronto is horrendous for the money, but even more cause of the years.

Exactly. Lead the league in total assists in 12/13. Also played better that year than Lowry individually. There was talk that if Lowry was getting traded last season, Vasquez could start right away. That was until Lowry finally was given the keys and broke out.

We've got 2 capable players at PG and can light it up from the perimeter, while also being capable of running the offense too.

I love this deal as a Raptor fan, he is a fringe starter who can play both guard positions and we only gave him a 2 year deal. Seems a lot of players are tired of waiting for the teams with all the cap space that are waiting on LeBron and the fallout.

Vasquez was coming back to Toronto, regardless of LeBron's decision. He's talked about how much he loves the city, the fan base, and how much he just loves being part of it.

Somewhere he said he would love to retire a Raptor too, but I think it goes further than that. I believe he will become the mayor of Toronto and will go on as the greatest ever in that regard.
