Lahm was great today and my choice for MOTM along with Schurrle.
Boateng, Schweini, Ozil were also very good. Kroos was very disapointing after the clinic he put on vs Brazil, Hummels was caught off guard a few times, Howdes was pretty good defensively but clumsy.

Goetze's strike though :bowdown: :bowdown: Germany will sure be playing him in a false 9 role after this tourny..

Unfortunate for Khedira as I thought they missed him after Kramer was subbed off. Khedira is a very underrated player and his box box play is key. Dude is always making runs into the boxes and always using his size.


As for Argentina not really Messi's fault. They probably should have actually won as they had some golden chances although Germany was the better squad. Higuain, Aguero, Palacio were all flops this tourny..

Argentinas backline was solid though and Mascherano was great in the midfield as a destroyer. I htought Lavezzi played well today and the Aguero subsitution was probably unwarranted as Lavezzi was their "glue guy" this tourny.

both teams played their hearts out.. the germans just have more quality and the majority of the time the more quality team wins
tbh if this argentina team won it would have probably been one of the worst if not the worst of all time..
people will still blame it on messi and i dont really care but none of his pals really showed up.. aguero, palacio, higuain, lavezzi were all horrific.. if di maria played those counters would have been different.. but ifs ifs..
it was the complete opposite of what people expected.. the defense showed up.. romero, rojo, zaba, demichelis, garay, masche were all outstanding

as for the award it seemed to me more like a lifetime achievement and messi looked embarrassed to take it obviously..

no one really stood out this WC, i guess robben, hummels, neuer, masche, muller wouldnt have been bad choices either..

anyway congrats to the germans fans, this young core is the early candidate to win it for the next 2 major tournaments..
