I'll never forget his game 1 explosion...48, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals. For a man that was 165 pounds soaking wet, he had the heart of a lion. A truly great alpha leader. He ultimately came up short, which was very expected, but he did something only a true alpha would do...

162 FG attempts in 5 games. He went down like a solider, guns blazing. He damn sure didn't lose for lack of trying. A great warrior.

Too bad Shaq was never called for an offensive foul in that series. Mutombo's lucky to have any teeth left.

Tyron Lue was grabbing AI the whole series and that's the only way Lakers could stop AI.

AI 01 Final > any of Kobe's 7 final appearance!

Game 1 was one of the greatest games of all-time. The Lakers were an undefeated (11-0), unstoppable force in the playoffs and AI and 76ers came in and stole HCA.

Of course, 76ers got swept after that... but Lakers fans were shook for about 48 hours.

And I'll never forget the stepback crossover jumper on Tyron Lue in OT.

Honestly this just reminded me I had recorded this series on VHS I don't even know what grade I was in, but I remember watching the replay in slow mo and you can see one of the Lakers assistants with this smug/pissed look on his face and says "**** you" to Iverson after that shot. Used to kill me and my friends

Yeah, that was honestly some brutal shit to watch. Shaq would just raise his arms and turn around with his elbow positioned as a weapon. Mutombo must have an iron will to endure that all series without backing down.

Not saying what he said was true, but why the hell didnt you include his best game?? I mean kobe has shot 40% or even worse multiple times in the finals. The only time he shot notably better than 40% in the finals was against the Nets and Orlando (even then it was something like 43%, so not really).

And Kobe in the last 4 games

27 ppg 9 rpg 6 apg 1.5 spg 1 bpg on 44/33/84 shooting

Kobe had a horrible first game, but the last 4 games he was good/great in all of them.

He's the reason why the Lakers lost 1 game in that post season. One of my favorite players of all time. Him stepping over Lue was epic. I was rooting for Philly in that Finals since I hate the Lakers back then. The only one I liked in their organization was Phil Jackson due to him being a former coach of the Bulls.

Backdoor sweep after catching a rusty Laker team off guard.

Definitely a great all around series in the 4 straight wins after getting off to a slow start in game 1. Particularly against a defensive powerhouse like Larry Brown's '01 Sixers.
