View Full Version : So how exactly is Lebron going to the cavs "bailing when the going gets tough?"

it isn't like he'd be joining a stacked western conference team or even joining a super talented team in the east, and right now cleveland isn't that much better than miami considering if lebron stays then so would bosh who is much better than any player on the cavs roster.
so, one of you dorks with this terrible opinion, explain yourself.

because the Cav's are a lot deeper than the Heat with a much brighter future....
lebron isn't going to retire after next year.
he might not be going to the best situation, but he's leaving one on the decline. Thats for sure. well, unless Riley pulls some magic.

In 2-4 years this team of, what is essentially, a bunch of college-aged kids is going to be scary if all goes as expected.
Add LeBron to the mix and the story writes itself.
Why wouldn't he go back?
Since Kyrie came into the league, they've incrementally improved every year. In fact, the big surprise was that they didn't make the leap this year. It was already expected.
LeBron is instantly worth 10-20 wins on his own. With him, they're an instant playoff team right now, with potential to go deep.
Later, when the team matures, LeBron will be in an extremely comfortable position for the long term.
I mean, this really doesn't even need to be a thread. It's kind of self-explanatory.

well, with this logic, Randle probably could have gone 2nd, latest at 3rd or 4th had he not been injured.
would the Cavs had drafted him with their top pick since they already had waitors? who knows, they passed on Parker.

I wish the Cavs were stacked, but the truth is that without Lebron, they will at best be a 1st round exit in the playoffs next year. And that's at a time when the East isn't actually known for it's elite competition.
The Cavs do have a lot of young talent though, so if everything goes right, they could be quite good in 2-3 years.

because anyone who saw what the Cavs front office did last night. I don't know how many star players would feel safe about joining this team for the long haul if they want to contend for multiple championships.

The great thing about this cavs team is not only that lebron can lead them to 2-3 rings, but once lebron is old this cavs team will be experienced and can carry him to rings like how the spurs carry Duncan these days.
Lebron could end up with 6-7 rings this way, just relaxing on the bench and feeling what it's like to get carried like Kobe and Duncan have great experience with.

since kyrie has come into the league he has yet to play a fully healthy season.
it's going to be at least 3 years before Wiggins is able to develop into a very good NBA player and by then Lebron will be at the tail end of his prime.
Varejao has always been injury prone and now he's a 31 year old injury prone player.
Luol Deng isn't even staying with the Cavs.
You all like to tout this teams supposed "depth" but they have none. having youth does not translate to having a deep roster.
it's NOT about being a playoff team, it's about being a CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER. at this juncture, James isn't going to settle for anything less than a title just to stick around and see how players develop because right at this moment everything is up in the air. wiggins could be a major bust for all you know. and this team will NOT be able to defeat a team in the West like the Clippers or much less the Spurs since this team is definitely worse than the Heat team that just got crushed by san antonio in 5 games.

It's an excuse made in advance to discredit anything Lebron possibly achieves there(assuming he goes there). Now they are very young talented team who can probably barely make the playoffs. Like BigTicket said, probably 1st round exit. Cavs have very big potential but only after around 3-4 years can fruits of this potential be really enjoyed. That's when Lebron will be on the real decline probably.
So that's not bailing, bailing would be if Lebron somehow ended on Spurs, OKC, Indiana, LAC (assuming those teams don't trade any of their star/best players), teams which are real contenders even without Lebron there.

What exactly have any of those players proven in the NBA much less proven interms of putting it together and win championships. Why do people forget the countless "talented" young players that don't amount to much in this league.
1st of all, he didnt bail because the going got tough... but bailed because the going got impossible (any player in NBA history would have felt the same way and lets be honest any player in NBA history would have not did anything better with what he had to work with), he understood that would happen and that he just had to play his game and be patient about everything else (like, the supporting cast), but he gave it 7 years.... how much could he have given? This is no Reggie Miller or even Barkley/Malone... this is arguably one of the 2-3-4-5 greatest actual individual overall players in NBA history, with potential to become GOAT, he wasnt willing to 100% sacrifice that for LOYALNESS (staying in Cleveland, ending up just as another ringless Dominique Wilkins)...
The only thing i didnt like about Lebron is that he aint a super honest Douchebag Asshole (like Kobe, Jordan etc. dont worry, in this case its a compliment if you continue to read).... if he was, he would have let everybody know, he would demanded and threatened to leave if nothing changed (like Kobe did, millions of times).... its bad, but at the same time good, because NOBODY would hold any grudges after he would have left, no matter HOW he would have left and he would have given them a timelimit when he was gona leave if nothing changed and so on... its brutal, but if he did this, maybe he would have got what he wanted and stayed.....
2nd of all, even if he goes to Cavs at this point, when it once again gets impossible, he doesnt have to worry about it anymore... he got his championship(s) monkey of his back and has also now much more experience in that regard (what it takes etc.), he is top 10, he can only retire even higher ring or no extra ring, now all he has to worry about is try to bring one home for Cleveland and even if that doesnt happen, so be it... imo, if i was Lebron at this point, i would rather lose trying to win one for Cleveland rather than Miami.... it would be a more meaningful achievement to bring their first Championship....

Because if LeBron goes to the Cavs it'll be the first time since the 87-89 Lakers that a team has had FOUR #1 picks on the same team.
That Lakers team had Magic, Kareem, James Worthy, Mychal Thompson, went to 3 straight finals, and won back-to-back titles.
Cavs will have LeBron, Kyrie Irving, Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett. Not exactly the same as the Lakers, but Leastern Conference. Guaranteed favorites to make it out of the East if LeBron goes there, and brighter future than Miami.
Still waiting -Lebron23-, take your time.

Nobody expected Kobe to win and the Lakers somehow traded for Gasol. Trust me nothing is impossible. Lebron just wanted to win now when he was on his prime in order to be on the history books. Now everybody is overrating him to a point of comparing him with Larry Legend. :biggums:

Has a max player EVER left a team that made 4 straight NBA finals before (winning 2, 3 if said player weren't a big-moment shrinking spaz)?
Seems it would take an odd mentality to do something like that, but Bron's always had one of those.
IllegalD
07-10-2014, 07:37 AM
Another reason why he's bailing is because LeBron is very media savvy. And he knows that the d*ckriding media is gonna be all over his nuts if he goes back to the Cavs and wins a championship there. Meaning that 1 championship with the Cavs and this b*llshit, "romantic", homecoming story that the media has been trying to push for months will be hyped and framed as having "more value" than him winning multiple more rings in Miami or any other team. "Perfect storybook fairy tale ending" bs storylines.
You can already see the manifestation of that mentality in Pauk's retarded, LeBron apologist post.
Cleverness
07-10-2014, 07:37 AM
Bron will definitely be "bailing when the going gets tough" if he leaves Miami. They've been to 4 straight NBA Finals (I know that's considered a bad thing on ISH, but it's actually a good thing) with guys he practically chose to play with back in 2010.
However, the Cavs are NOT a stacked team ready to win a championship.
2011 Cavs: 19-63
2012 Cavs: 21-45
2013 Cavs: 24-58
2014 Cavs: 33-49
Definitely an upward trend, but their record is garbage, especially for playing in the weaker eastern conference.
