blake is a much better player and fit than williams. and kaman will be uber productive when hes given minutes. he wont get a heavy load, but he'll make baskets, block shots, and rebound. much more productive than anything freeland or leonard was giving you

Also there are way too many guards right now, which means Ainge is still in the tank phase of rebuilding, which means we can expect a 20-25 win season. There are a lot of minor assets but Rondo is the only star and he's not long for this team. I appreciate "value" but I don't feel excited by the thought of future picks.

Lost Mo Williams and added Steve Blake and Chris Kaman. 2 old, ugly white guys on the decline of their careers.

The fact that they are cheap and temporary contracts is the only good part.

True but I can't see him staying here. He wants the max, for which I don't blame him (if you're not going to win rings, get paid) but if you hand him that deal he becomes a hindrance to a rebuilding project. Meanwhile Ainge hands Avery Bradley a deal and also drafts a guy that is going to be a point guard in the NBA (Smart). Rondo and Smart just aren't compatible players, two ball-dominant pgs that aren't marksmen. It doesn't work. Someone has to go and I'd bet it's the guy that wants a hundred million dollars.

Will be sad to part ways with Rondo, hes a beast, but I agree that it makes no sense to keep him with Smart, its annoying because Rondos value is difficult to gauge, so I don't see us getting back anything close to what he is worth.

Like Bruno and DeAndre Daniels, they aren't physically ready to contribute solid backup minutes, let alone start. All of them have thin upper bodies and Lucas is also coming of knee surgery. It's best for them to get stronger at this point. Every player develops differently.

Martin is 30 or close to it and doesnt offer much. Gray is probably a practice player to beat up on Drummond....... still.
