I was inspired by this shitty thread:

Remember when CP3 was trying his hardest to get traded to the Knicks, which would have given us a Melo/CP3 team that might have possibly gotten to the ECF?
Then there was the time Dwight and Deron were trying to team up on the Nets, which Dwight fvcked up by hemming and hawing and signing on for an extra season with the Magic.
So at one point, there was a chance that we'd have a Melo/CP3 Knicks and Dwight/Deron Nets competing against the Heat and Pacers and making the east a little less shitty.
Then there was the franchise-destroying trade veto that prevented a potential Kobe/CP3/Gasol Lakers team that was also trying to get Dwight on board.
What other superteams were planned but never managed to happen?

The David Stern veto that would've sent Chris Paul to Lakers immediately comes to mind.
CP3/Kobe/Pau would've been an unstoppable trio
2014 Knicks - Bargnani, Melo, Felton.

According to multiple sauces Jordan, Hakeem, and Drexler almost ended up on the same team on draft night '84.

I feel like the same Laker team with an upgrade on Artest and a better backup point might have gotten to the finals that year.
That trade veto was huge, because Odom reacted so negatively, as did Pau, to an extent.
In 2011, I feel like Pau was tired and physically worn out. After 2011, I feel like he's stopped working.

Michael Redd to the Cavs...if he hadn't gotten injured.
Things may have panned out way different than they have.

I almost forgot...I remember Magic mentioning on Simmons' podcast that Riley was trying to get him on the Knicks after his HIV-inspired retirement. He wouldn't have been the same Magic who was raping fools in the 80s, but still, he might have been what the Knicks needed in the 90s.

Easily the Hill/Duncan/McGrady Orlando Magic. Duncan stayed in San Antonio and Hill stayes injured.
no pun intended

09 Clippers, I don't remember exactly but they were supposed to have something like Baron Davis - Corey Maggette - Elton Brand - Marcus Camby? That never happened though, man those players all dropped off quickly.

Kidd Bryant Gasol.
Would have been ridiculous. I think that's the highest IQ team in history and Kidd is one of the few guys who could save Kobe from himself.

Kidd Bryant Gasol.
I remember reading that in the 90s there was a potential Van Exel/Kidd trade that never happened. So we missed out on a Shaq/Kobe/Kidd team.

Why didn't this happen? Would have rivalled the Celtics as the biggest dynasty.
