Just an FYI, the flight was planned for over a month. He planned to go to Vegas, then catch this flight back to Miami then go to Brazil for some time now since the World Cup is easy to plan for like this.

I don't think Griffin should do it or would be forced to. I think the Love trade is more of a flavor of the month move and could easily be explained away. Kawhi winning FMVP this past season is proof enough and provides him ammo. He would be in a weird spot but as long as he can sell Wiggins as the answer to Gilbert then he is fine. The only issue would be if Lebron strongly advocated for the trade.

I get the feeling you want him out, making us somewhat similar in our viewpoints of this whole charade. James is a great player and there is no denying that. He is an all-timer, no doubt. But, is he worth all of the things that he brings along with him wherever he goes? That's a different question entirely.

I'm to the point where I have come to accept the idea that he might come back. What choice do I have? Giving up on the NBA? But I'd be lying if I said I was looking forward to the circus he carries on his back at all times.

I was really hoping that we could build something like the Spurs have, from the ground up, and without the reliance on one guy who either gets all the credit or all the blame and without the accompaniment of his legions of annoying fans, etc.

First of all, the number of teams who are likely to make a serious play for Love is basically cut into 1/4, if that, before you even get into the negotiations. No team is going to give up serious value for a one year rental. His agent has made it clear that he would sign an extension here, which puts the Cavs in a very select group.

That alone kills Minny's leverage in driving up the price. That means the Cavs are in competition with maybe five other teams. I'm wondering which of those teams could beat a combination of Waiters, Thompson and Bennett along with multiple picks, including the Heat's first rounder which would suddenly be extremely valuable, and tons of cap space.

That's far better than the Rockets gave up for Harden under similar circumstances.

The Cavs shouldn't just give up Wiggins because it "feels" fair. They just need to have the best offer. For me, Kyrie and Wiggins are off the table. If they want to take their chances by waiting until the deadline or letting him walk away from his contract in a year, call their bluff.
