In order for LeBron to actually go back to Cleveland, a healthy relationship between him and Gilbert is vital.
The letter is obviously bothering Bran, so should he apologize?

You assume he hasn't already. And if he hasn't by now, then no. You don't want to grovel.

I'm sure he and lebron have spoken since and the letter would have been mentioned. Water under the bridge.

It wouldn't seem sincere. It would seem desperate. If he apologized a couple of years ago then his apology would mean something. They might have talked since then. Who knows?
yes he should, but more because of how embarrassing that letter was

My thinking, exactly. If Gilbert apologized right now, it would seem pretty phony. Now if he would have apologized a day or week after the comments, then it would have had more meaning. And like others have stated, who knows, they may have already talked and put this issue behind them.

it wouldn't have gotten this far without their being an apology already.
Lebron and Dan both made mistakes in how they handled the situation.

So after all these meetings with Cleveland and shit you mean to tell me him and lebron haven't spoken? And if they did speak that they didn't clear things up on both sides? Unless you mean publicly then no. **** cares.

dan has something that lebron needs. no need for apologies, just a mutual agreement.

Is LeBron going to formally apologize for the way he handled his whole decision and basically getting up in the playoffs against the Celtics in 2010?

Lebron and Dan should both apologize. I hope they have already done it privately, but they should also do it publicly if Lebron does go back to Cleveland.

The fact that cleveland is in the running tells me he already did

well, that would be like asking the girl/guy who's in a fight with their boyfriend/girlfriend to prom on the morning annoucement.
unless it's done privately of course

People need to give up the Cleveland pipe dream. Melo joining Miami's big 3 to make a big 4 is more realistic than LeBron going to Cleveland.

Are they? Has LeBron actually done ANYTHING to indicate this?
Seriously, outside of "sources" and media speculation, what indication is there at all that LeBron is remotely interested in Cleveland?

No.
He also should not have pursued Bron.

I'd like to think that if you drafted the guy
you are somewhat responsible for how their career had panned out.
and I guess if he believes that Lebron could truly be benefited from playing with another franchise, especially at this particular moment with his free agency decision.
not interfering with Lebron's decision would be quite well publicly
I'd like to say

He should apologize to Cleveland for promising a championship when the one man capable of bringing it decided that shit wasn't happening. :oldlol:

I personally feel that's why Riley brought it up to LeBron if it's true, because he knows Gilbert isn't going to apologize.
Yes but isn't this some sort of gambling?
I mean, what if Gilbert swallows his pride(which he did partly, after removing the "letter" from the website) and makes an apology? Lebron would then be "obliged" to sign with the cavs even if he wasn't sure about it, just not to further f*ck up his public image

Joint press conference would be ideal, Lebron says what he could've done differently, Gilbert does the same, they shake hands, end of story.
