I write this to you totally floored. I've stood by my expectation of LeBron going back to Miami since pretty much the beginning. And that expectation has been proven wrong.

Cavs @ Heat Christmas Day, let's book it.

1. LeBron is possibly insane. Or a great troll. Or both.

2. I'll always root for LeBron as he is one of my favorite players ever, but I have become used to rooting for the Heat so I'm not sure who I cheer for now. Is it possible I can become a fan of an actual team now?

That letter was perfection.

Good decision by him on both fronts. Incredible story and more importantly, a good basketball decision.

LeBron just made the biggest PR move in NBA history. He came out and basically said that this choice wasn't about basketball, it was about going back home and playing for his home town. Which is something those fans, and that city, and that state will appreciate more than winning rings.

I read that letter and thought the same thing. If he ever wanted to win the city back, he executed it perfectly.

I liked how he handled it instead of that stupid decision gimmick. But leaving a team he bought to the finals for the last 4 years? :wtf: Jumping off a sinking ship to a lifeboat as a captain before your crew gets off.

Lebron is a very shrewd businessman. Going back home and playing for his home team is a sentiment, and these days with 24 hour media coverage, sentiment is good for business.

This part struck the biggest cord with me in the letter...

But this is not about the roster or the organization. I feel my calling here goes above basketball. I have a responsibility to lead, in more ways than one, and I take that very seriously. My presence can make a difference in Miami, but I think it can mean more where I’m from. I want kids in Northeast Ohio, like the hundreds of Akron third-graders I sponsor through my foundation, to realize that there’s no better place to grow up. Maybe some of them will come home after college and start a family or open a business. That would make me smile. Our community, which has struggled so much, needs all the talent it can get.

In Northeast Ohio, nothing is given. Everything is earned. You work for what you have.

I’m ready to accept the challenge. I’m coming home.

Has a team never had four #1 picks under age 30 on their roster?

LeBron 2003
Irving 2011
Bennett 2013
Wiggins 2014

Just weird, surprised.... like an epic THAT JUST HAPPENED.... i think it was the right thing to do though, something i wanted him to do. Actually, i wanted him to never leave but then again also wanted him to leave the things were going in 2009 as i really think he deserved success, and then hopefully come back....

At this point in Miami... think about it, if Miami is gona lose while trying to win a championship, if Miami is not good enough to win a championship, if he will in Miami do that for the rest of his career and maybe eventually win one more and RETIRE there..... i honestly think he would rather be in that situation in Cleveland rather than Miami.... better to try bring one home for Cleveland....

With that being said, if Lebron made this move now, which he just did, for those reasons, i think he aint moving anywhere, he will retire as a Cavalier.

I personally never was a Cavs or Miami fan, but i love Lebrons game and that i think wont change, wherever he goes.... hence i cant help but root for him...

....and oh, congrats Cavs fans!!

This was a good move for LeBron. The Cavs have a much brighter future now than the Heat. I would say this has redeemed "The Decision".
