If HOU throws in a pick, its something the lakers should consider. cause at worst, lin is an expirer and lakers can go after dragic next year. but if lin pans out, re-sign him to a reasonable contract. but again, only do the deal if HOU throws in a pick.

Smart move for LA. THey need to take a 2 year approach to this. Lin can produce some for them this year, so they aren't too terrible, but they really want whatever asset Houston is attaching. T.Jones, a first or two, whatever.

This...is not a good plan. Lin is talented and would be a good pick up...if he weren't making that much money. Houston already raped us with Dwight Howard, let's not help them shed cap space to sign a free agent like Bosh and better themselves for an overpriced contract.

So what exactly happens now with the PG rotation? Lin, Clarkson, Marshall and Nash? Even if you take out Clarkson, that's going to be little playing time for someone. I suppose they'll limit Nash or maybe they plan on getting rid of him.

A first rounder is nice but I hope we at least put together a decent team around this and aren't just calling it a year again.

we have 4 PGs and 4 total other players? awesome.. my guess is that options for Nash are being put together as we speak and using his money to offer Lance a 10-12 mil/year contract.

Depends on the coach. No doubt Lin is overall better than Marshall but Marshall was a surprise last season that thrived. Whether that was due to D'Antoni remains to be seen but a nice passer, could shoot the three and wasn't turnover prone.

His defense left a bit to be desired so that may be where Lin wins out but this is all dependent on who's even going to coach this team.

It's a great move by the Lakers. Expirer, get a 1st round pick and since they struck out in free agency they can appease their fanbase with a big name player like Lin who will be a great draw.

It keeps them relevant but will not mean much in terms of wins.

"Two informed insiders have told Charged FM Brooklyn that Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson are currently at a stalemate.

The Knicks and Lakers are in talks on a sign and trade that would send Pau Gasol to the Knicks, and ship Andrea Bargnani, Tim Hardaway Jr., and a 1st round pick to Los Angeles.

Anthony wants the deal made to pair up with Gasol and be in a position to compete this season. Jackson is hesistant in making the deal because he doesn't want to trade Hardaway who he reportedly hasn't been shopping at all.

Both don't see eye-to-eye, and word is if Jackson doesn't make the trade Anthony could balk and go to the Chicago Bulls."

One thing I want to see is Lin getting more credit for his D. It's not just good...it's pretty damn good, imo.

You can talk about his lack of handles or weak going to his left or his turnovers...but the one thing that might end up keeping Lin in this league and serviceable for a long time is his defense.

lowrys last season in houston he was a BEAST. then he got some weird infection and missed about 2 months. while he was out, dragic got his run at point and put up something like 18 and 7 to finish out the year. lowry's return didnt hinder goran much, but they both did share PG duties at that time, so lowrys numbers to finish the year went significantly down.
