Nick Young's deal to remain in L.A. with the Lakers is $21.5 million over four years, with a fourth year player option.

Uh... speechless. I thought the Lakers were trying to sign 1/2 year contracts so everything expires when Kobe does. This move doesn't make a ton of sense.

There are no MLE's when you're under the cap. You just spend cap space. MLE is when you're over the cap but under the luxury line. Mini-MLE is when you're over the luxury line.

Lakers still have about 20 million to work with.

What the hell are the Lakers doing?

Doesn't make sense to pay him 5 mil a year...especially a 4-year deal for a glorified role player.

My understanding is that it's based off of this past season. We were over the cap and the luxury line.

Definitely tanking. I don't understand why we didn't do that for the season just gone, we could've gotten Jabari, Wiggins or Embiid

Tanking while on a multi-year deal?

Holy shit, I can't tell if this deal is worse or Hill? Probably this because it's longer. :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

They're certainly tanking.

Also, they aren't tanking. Even with this lineup, it's not one of the five worst teams in the league, therefore the pick would go to the Suns anyway.

Not a bad price honestly.

Now Gasol has turned us down. Boy, this free agency is not leaving me with a good feeling.

Young and Hill are great pieces but they're pieces you get after you do something...Lin alone isn't going to take us back to the playoffs.

Lin
Bryant
Young
Randle
Hill

I'd say....32 wins. So yeah, they lose their first rounder probably and sit on mediocrity. :facepalm

Lakers are like those dudes in those videos who are blindfolded and expecting some hot girl to give them a blowjob, but then it turns out to be some gross hairy dude doing all the sucking.

I guess in this metaphor the Lakers are also the gross hairy dude. Man, fvck the Lakers right now.

I guess I'm fine with this. Nick Young, maybe doesn't take the best shots, but he's a good three point shooter on his career and he plays hard every single night. Also everyone on the team loves him, that quality is good to have in a locker room.

Also, it's a good contract number to move in a future transaction as well.

It's a tank, someone just forgot to mention it to the Lakers front office.

Should have kept D'Antoni, dude raises the level of bums like Meeks, Young and many others.

I dont mind that contract at all, it's good value. But yeah... we're going to be in nomans land. To shity to even reach the Playoffs and to good to be at the very bottom to keep the first round pick.
