View Full Version : Sorry LeBron, not buying the going back home story wholeheartedly

sure going back home counted for something. lets say 25%. which is a lot. but Cavs having a stacked team with Kyrie, you, and Wiggins/Love(whichever YOU pick) is a much better situation to go to than staying with the Heat
That 75% is why LeBron switched back, don't buy the whole sobby story media and Lebron is selling you.

I honestly do not buy the whole "i've grown up I am deeply sorry" part of this.
I do not believe Lebron is THAT sincere. Sure it is CONVENIENT and I am sure a part of him does feel that way, but comonm he is a businessman first and foremost and is chasing MJ and Tiger to be a billionaire.
EVERYTHING he has done this offseason can very easily be no more than a convenient way to improve his public image.
Maverick Carter and "World Wide" Wes (stupid name) wouldn't have it any other way

Completely agree.
Hes going to a better situation. Period.
All the" im coming home for the betterment of Ohio" is just sugar coating.
Id say its about 50/50 better situation/going home.
Either way the media that killed lebron 4 years ago seem to be buying it so good for Lebron.

I dont either, but casuals will eat that shit up.
Did playing in his "home town" play a factor? Sure, but the Cavs have a higher ceiling with LeBron, and can win it all next season (the Heat as is - before the acquisitions and ones to come - are only going to decline).
LeBron fully understands this, and as others said, is ALL about business.

I'm not convinced LeBron would return if the Cavs if they received the 9th pick like their odds were. Of all the choices, this was the one I probably preferred. But make no mistake, this is obviously a business decision (as it should be) and he wouldn't be a Cav if the Cavs didn't have a roster like they do.

At the very least, make the conference finals. They'll be in the finals/win it all in 2 years MAX.
You can quote me on that, killer.

There's an obvious media spin. It sells so there pushing it pretty hard. That being said I think he just wanted to go back to Cleveland. I think reasons outside of basketball, outside of msgboard bullshit played a huge role in him leaving for Cleveland.
Obviously business reasons, Clevelands roster played a big role too tho. Doubt he sabotages his career just to go back home.

They MIGHT luck out and make the Finals this year, but whoever comes out of the West will DESTROY them. They have no chance against the Spurs, Thunder, or Clippers. Lack of experience is going to hinder them for at least 3 seasons.

He could have went to Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, or Chicago as well. But he chose Cleveland.
And lol at kyrie and a 19 year old Wiggins equaling a stacked team. You trolls should move on to an argument that you can win. Maybe go troll an NFL board or something. Switch to a new sport.
SupermanOnSteroids
07-11-2014, 09:52 PM
that 19 year old wiggins is going to be better than 33 year old wade and only get better while wade gets worse each and every year.
SupermanOnSteroids
07-11-2014, 09:53 PM
plus there's talk about trading wiggins for love which has been going on for a while since lebron expressed that he wants an elite big.
kyrie>wade
love>>bosh
cleveland also has a better supporting cast than the heat in other areas.

How is Cleveland stacked? PLEASE explain how Kyrie, Wiggins, Varajao, TT and Bennett is anywhere close to stacked or favorites to win anything or even get out of the East, much less go face to face with whoever comes out West. Go on then.
This is such a stupid argument. If he really was only chasing rings, then why the heck didn't he go to Chicago? Or Golden State? Or Houston?
Even the Hawks are better than Cleveland. :confusedshrug:
I think Lebron realized that his ring chasing days with the Heat were over and decided to go back home.
Stupid choice because at the end of the day, history remembers winners. Not feel good stories.

exactly
if Lebron never left, he would still be the hero of CLeveland... and no one would remember him history wise with his 0 rings.
If 0/1 were bad, imagine 0/2 or 0/3.

No one should buy it wholeheartedly but there is some truth to it. Lebron could of went to a team like the Rockets if he was all about winning.
It was more of a perfect scenario and Cleveland lucked out.
1) Miami lost the final
2) wade looks old and the team had no depth
3) cleveland has a bunch of young talent
4) it would be a huge PR boost for him to go back to Cleveland
Dan Gilbert benefits, Cleveland benefits, the NBA benefits (afterall we all detested the Miami heat) and the only team that lost was Miami.
So who cares?

He was only going home to a stacked team, which the Cavs are.
Wiggins has superstar potential.
Love is coming.
Kyrie is a top PG.

A team that can't make the playoff in the weakass eastern conference is a stack team?:lol :lol :lol :lol Either people are really stupid or really bad at trolling. If Lebron really want to ring chase he would go to the Dallas Maverick. That team is the only team that gave the Spur all it could handle in the playoff, and they also get back their defensive anchor in Tyson Chandler.

I dont think people were insinuating hes "ringchasing"
But he is going to a team with a higher ceiling. AND in the process gets to milk the im going home angle.
It was a win/win situation.
Beautifully played by Bron and his camp.

Either the Cavs are stacked for the future or Bron is a dumbass for leaving a team that made the finals last year.
Pick your poison and stick with it.
Only a complete idiot would bet their future on Dwayne Wade's 50 year old knees. He didn't really have a choice, Miami is done, Cleveland is home AND they actually have potential.

I don't know why people keep saying that he should have gone to rockets or mavericks. If you understand the business world and how much attention is put on lebron you would know that if he moved to one those places, he would get shitted on by every single news reporter and everyone else on here for jumping ship.
However since he made the decision to go back "home", no one can say that he's ring chasing.
I also think many people know that Lebron left, because the heat are nothing anymore, and cavs are an upcoming team with kyrie and wiggins (possibly love too).
So why would anyone ruin their name by going to a new franchise, where they can go back to their old one without being hated on by the media.
P.S. I hope Cavs get kicked out in the 2nd round of the playoffs woop woop

You sound like a jealous ex girlfriend.
LBJ wanted to win a championship. He did twice. Now he's ready to go home. And it doesn't hurt that home has a great young roster and with LBJ will be an immediate contender.
Miami went to 4 straight finals, the Heat give him a better shot at winning a title next year, but he genuinely wants to win for his hometown of NE Cleveland! Get off his d1ck
lol.... anywhere Lebron goes it apparently is a "stacked team".... better question is, what team ISNT "stacked" for you if he plays there? The reality is Lebron is Lebron, one of the most impactful players in NBA history and plays the game the right way, he makes those around him better not just simply by his leadership & urgency but by his gamestyle itself, no matter where he plays he will turn that team/roster into an immediate contender..... its HE who uses the tools around him THAT well.... and that team will look "stacked"....
Do you know that even many of Lebrons Cavs teams were called stacked and were championship favorites and were called one of the best teams ever aswell by some people?
