Now Raptor fans all around the internet can put an end to all this "Vince Carter coming back to Toronto" talk. It just wasn't going to happen.

Wow. Three years? I was not certain he would stick around that long. I'll take it. I kind of liked him in Dallas though.

hmm, did not see that coming at all. didnt even realize he was a free agent tbh. interesting move, although tony allen's toughness is such a big part of the identity of the grindhouse. kinda doing a 180 in terms of image by bringin in wince :lol

itll be interesting to see how they balance the two. allen is obviously limited offensively but in certain matchups hes a big difference maker, i wonder how they'll manage to get vc on the court vs the thunder for instance.

If he plays throughout his contract and doesn't get any injuries along the way, he'll end up with over 25,000+ all-time total points and over 2,000+ 3 pointers made all-time.

Kind of wish he stayed in Dallas. Decent price tag, considering he was one of the best 6th men in the NBA last year.

Still want him in Toronto once more before he retires. Even if only for a single game.

Reading the Memphis forum, they think he will start.

Great move. VC's transformation and maturity had been one of the best things in the league the past 5 years. I miss his Raptors/Nets days tho.

Don't really like this deal. Eventually age is going to catch up with VC.

The last year isn't fully guaranteed. It's essentially a 2 year deal...and by the time the 3rd year comes it won't matter because the cap will have increased about 8 million (at least) from now and he'll be expiring.

The Mavs better ****ing have something up their sleeve. Our summer has been a ****ing joke so far.

What's crazy is that's he averaged 78 games a season since leaving Toronto. Around the year or 2nd year when Vince left the Raptors, I remember so many of my friends were saying there's no way he's going to last in the league for another 5 something years. He's way too injury prone and he was going to break down at age 29.

But damn, he's proven a lot of people wrong with that. He's got crazy longevity. He could play 19 seasons and maybe a 20th if his body can handle it.

Do the Grizz have any more capspace?

He looked absolutely lost to me when he was in Orlando, like he didn't know how to play without the athleticism... Then he really put it together in Dallas.

3 years? !?!!!!?!

Wow. He could be useful for a lot of teams.

I'd love him on the Blazers.. and he could really help OKC. Guess neither would want to commit to 3 years.

Yes!!!!! Grizz FTW!!!!

That means we can now leave Tayshaun Prince's corpse to pasture, and trade him closer to the deadline.

C - Gasol / Koufus / Stokes
F - Randolph / Leurer
F - Pondexter / Carter
G - Lee / Allen / Adams
G - Conley / Udrih?

He had to adjust to no longer being the man, exiting his physical prime, and had to redefine his game to a degree in order to remain relevant, which he managed to do successfully. Orlando was pretty much the start of the transition from all-star VC to role player VC.

Ugh, I wish he went to a contender. I was hoping he would go to Portland or OKC or even the nets for the MLE but we have it to a rookie euro player instead.
