And considering Melo said him resigning with the Knicks depended on them getting Gasol...are the Lakers back in it?
Did MITCH do it again? :biggums:

I don't think any big name wants to play at the Lakers.

Out of all the big name free agents this offseason, only Melo gave them a serious look, and to be honest they were out of that race pretty quickly.

Maybe it's based on the fact that no big names are signing with the Lakers.
They will two years from now though, Lakers are obviously planning for the 2016 offseason.

plans are now for the 2016 because 2015 is slowly slipping away too...KLove is likely gone this summer. Lakers have a grim future to me, KD looks up to Lebron and doubt he ever leaves OKC now after Lebron "went home."
2015 has Rondo, Hibbert, DJordan, Aldridge and maybe KLove. Rondo is not wearing gold and purple after being in green, Hibbert is worth trash (or is trash) Aldridge is likely to stay in Portland (the Lebron "home" effect weighs in) amd KLove is likely gone this summer.
2016 hindsight is on KD...but that Lebron "home" effect will weigh in, and KD is all about that life and not disappointing in that way

Plans are on 2016 because Kobe will come off the books, and the salary cap will go up to $80M, so the Lakers have a great opportunity to start over.

Problem with starting over is that superstar free agents arent gonna go to a shit team even if it is the Lakers.

Only if I can create a thread but here it is:
Roy Hibbert to L.A. (that's why they got rid of Gasol)
Melo to L.A.

Lakers know they aren't in the hunt for the next 2 years, they will likely collect young talent in the draft while setting up for caps pace in 2016.
Players will always gravitate to the Lakers.

They will if you can sign a couple of them at the same time.

Thank you. Finally someone who has a brain. The whole 2016 plan is going to blow up in the Lakers face.
