I've had diarrhea for 2 days now, yersterday it wasn't really bad so it didn't bother me, but today i've taken like 3 or 4 watery shits, they have been literally pouring out like water. It bugs me because this never really happens to me.
I told my dad this and he says that getting diarrhea is normal, that it helps clean your degistive system, but then I searched online and they say that having diarrhea means your degistiv system is not functioning properly
After that I was like:biggums: any suggestions on what to eat when you have this?
This shit happens to me when my stomach starts rumbling like when a person is feeling hungry, shit sucks hopefully its nothing serious because I freak out when something out of the ordinary happens to me.

Cut out hard to digest foods like fatty foods and dairy and go the drug store and get one of the several products made for this. Immodium works pretty well.
Yes, generally diarrhea means yours digestive system isn't working well or you ate something that your body wants to get rid of pronto.
Antibiotics can mess up your digestive system, because while some bacteria make you sick, there's tons of other useful bacteria in the body that helps you live. Look into pro biotics.

You asked your dad for advice about diarrhoea, and was surprised to hear that it is normal. You're either 6 or a mental invalid. Or both.

Fiber.isnt that for when you are feeling consipated?

Hateradi made a good point in that you should replenish lost electrolytes. Having diarrhea everyday is likely to make you dehydrated and water isnt going to replenish potassium or sodium.
Imodium(loperamide) is a great antidhiarreal because it's essentially an opiate derivative. Opiates are pain medicines that have a nasty effect likewise to heroin: constipation.
Someone also mentioned probiotics, try them. Are you using antibiotics? They destroy bacteria in your stomach. Similar to how alcohol destroys gut bacteria, it gives you the shits. You should visit a doctor if this continues, there are even prescription strength probiotics as well.

Finally, someone not ragging on me for trying to give nutrition advice
And absolutely, you and KevinNYC are correct with using probiotics. Replenish the intestinal flora.
I also use l-glutamine. 80% of the intestinal walls is comprised of glutamine. This will help relining the intestinal walls

isnt that for when you are feeling consipated?
Depends on the fibre.
For constipation it's recommended to take psyllium husks due to the nature of it irritating the bowel to force movement. But too much can cause your colon to become atonic and will cause your bowels to be too reliant on it.
Bananas are more soluble fibres which create bulk but do not irritate the bowel. That and the potassium to help replenish electrolytes make the perfect remedy for diarrhea

Yes, fiber helps regulate you and balance you out.
If you have diarrhea and a eat a whole bunch of shit that makes your shit hard, then you'll have constipation and have to deal with the other end of the spectrum.

This. Basically eat some decent fruit like bananas or some skinned fruits and you'll be good.

I will definitely be eating lots of fruits too.
Not all fruits help, berries will make diarrhea worse (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/patientinstructions/000121.htm)
How to relieve diarrhea
These things may help you feel better if you have diarrhea:
Drink 8 to 10 glasses of clear fluids every day. Water is best.
Drink at least 1 cup of liquid every time you have a loose bowel movement.
Eat small meals throughout the day, instead of 3 big meals.
Eat some salty foods, such as pretzels, soup, and sports drinks.
Eat some high potassium foods, such as bananas, potatoes without the skin, and fruit juices.
Ask your doctor if you should take a multivitamin or drink sports drinks to boost your nutrition. Also ask about taking a fiber supplement, such as Metamucil, to add bulk to your stools.
Your doctor may also recommend a special medicine for diarrhea. Take this medicine as your doctor told you to take it.
Eating when you have diarrhea
You can bake or broil beef, pork, chicken, fish, or turkey. Cooked eggs are also OK. Use low-fat milk, cheese, or yogurt.
If you have very severe diarrhea, you may need to stop eating or drinking dairy products for a few days.
Eat bread products made from refined, white flour. Pasta, white rice, and cereals such as cream of wheat, farina, oatmeal, and cornflakes are OK. You may also try pancakes and waffles made with white flour, and cornbread. But don't add too much honey or syrup.
You should eat vegetables, including carrots, green beans, mushrooms, beets, asparagus tips, acorn squash, and peeled zucchini. Cook them first. Baked potatoes are OK. In general, removing seeds and skins is best.
Some desserts and snacks to try include Jell-O, popsicles, cakes, cookies, or sherbet.
Things you should avoid eating or drinking
You should avoid certain kinds of foods when you have diarrhea, including fried foods and greasy foods.
Avoid fruits and vegetables that can cause gas, such as broccoli, peppers, beans, peas, berries, prunes, chickpeas, green leafy vegetables, and corn.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and carbonated drinks.
Limit or cut out milk and other dairy products if they are making your diarrhea worse or causing gas and bloating.

Yes, I have had diarrhea before.
Mild cases when i have really spicy food
One really bad case of food poisoning. (bad fish)
Dealt with it with food and water.
Your chances of dying are slim. People who die of diarrhea typically live in 3rd world countries where access to clean water and food is difficult.
You probably have unlimited water, and bananas, etc. You will be fine.

Yeah, take the immodium which will help keep food in your intestine longer so more water can be absorbed and it'll make the bathroom trips less frequent. Eat what you can tolerate but resort to liquid diet if you can't tolerate anything. Seeing a doctor is unnecessary unless you see blood in your stool, feel intense abdominal pain, develop a fever, or feel like you're about to die. The doctor will just suggest you take immodium and tell you to bring him four different stool samples taken over a period of two days. Usually symptoms get better or clear up by then because most do not return with stool samples. Since you aren't reporting pain, it doesn't seem very serious and symptoms should get better in a couple of days.
