You respect Melo because he likes money. Stop twisting things.
Personally, I dont care what players do.

Players "colluding" to win a championship is a bad thing for the sport. The sport is supposed to be about open competition, and at the end of the day, the commissioner and the owners are who run the league. No player should ever be above that like with what you see with Lebron today. All the greats before him (who are even better players) never held sway over the league like he does.

He has always put money before winning.
Career loser. He is playing for the perfect team.

Well I give him some.
He stays with a team who are not winning anything in the next 2 years.
I give him credit for staying and being the leader.
But the money he is getting also speaks alot.
If he really wanted to win, he went to Chicago.
But as I said, he derserve some credit.

Melo wanted to play in NY. FA was coming up but the CBA was changing and he wanted to get his extension without hitting the market. He told Denver he wanted out, Denver looked for trades. Used NJ as a smokescreen and held NY hostage and got every asset that they pretty much had. NY could have gotten Melo for free, Denver's only leverage was the fact that Melo wanted to get paid AND play in NY. He helped cripple his future team for us :lol Melo cares about getting paid alot, like most players. Don't pretend it has anything to do with the "right way" or whatever.
He left for a bigger market and another star in Amare. It just failed. Same as alot of players, just with no success. Now? He just took the huge payday and big market. Nothing wrong with that. I would have took that money too. 120 mill? Too much money to pass up.

No, he doesn't care about winning a right... You will see, as he has 0 chance winning one with the team he's on. Doesn't seem like missing the playoffs bothered him that much.

It bothered him enough to take the challenge of coming back like a true alpha.

There are about at most, what 8-9? players in history better than LeBron and he's still adding to his resume. FOH.

i think Melo would have been a instant gratification idiot to leave NY
they LOVE him in NY. his game and style fits NY like a glove, and watching him at pivotal moments in MSG with Knick fans who are probably some of the loudest fans in sports, really doesn't get any better.
all i know is i have a few of these snapshots in my head of Melo at crunch at MSG where he nails it and the crowd is like some Gladiator arena and Melo is posing with his hand still in the after shot. nowhere else is like that or fits so well for him  it almost gives you shivers...
Denver was such a joke in comparison lol.

Why would I be butthurt? Pretty sure Melo made it further in Denver, didn't miss the playoffs with us in a tougher conference, and hit far more of his game winners as well :confusedshrug:
Wasn't really the point tho. I watch sports for great moments, not how they pose after they hit a shot :oldlol: different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I'm not even sure what were discussing or arguing about. Enjoy Melo's poses in NY and those shivers it gives you. Probably are better in NY considering there more popular/historic etc.

NY fans are better, there's more of them. I don't really care about that tho, I don't cheer for teams or think a player should choose that team because how popular they are.
I'm not trying to justify anything? NY is better for bigger moments. More people notice, care, media etc. They'd be up there at the top of the league. Has nothing to do with how the guy poses after a shot. Doesn't change the results, where Denver is better than NY with Melo.
Like I said, carry on with that family channel bullshit where you daydream about how Melo poses and those shivers it gives you.

Eh, Melo did the right thing. The max level is artificially low anyway. He would get a lot more if there was an open market.
Also, why should Melo take the pay cut? Phil and Fisher are making top dollar being brand new to their roles and the guy who is the proven star at what he does should take less? That doesn't add up.
Let Phil earn his money working with the CBA rules and Fisher earn his coaching whatever Phil can put together. Or the Knicks take the sacrifice and pay luxury tax for talent. The org can afford it.
