First thing is first... Cleveland, Indiana, and Chicago CANNOT all be in the Top 4. They are all in the same division. Only 2 of them can be Top 4. A division winner guarantees at least a Top 4 seeding.

I keep seeing the Wizards high or in between and they lost their best wing defender. Did they reload the bench ? I see them staying the same or not really improving all that much to be quiet honest.

I'll post mine just after this summer league game.

He should stay with Indiana. I think he and the rest of the Pacers want to finally break through and this could be their time. I would believe he wants another chance at facing James in the playoffs too and what better team to do with and beat a division rival ?

How am I hating?

You forgot the Bulls. They just got Pau Gasol. How the hell are they not a Top 3 team in the East? A frontcourt of Noah and Gasol is dominant. If D-Rose comes back healthy, the sky is the limit for that team.

And how are you gonna have the Knicks in the Top 4? I understand you're a fan of the team but you don't have to be a homer about it. If you're going to be REAL then you'd put your team somewhere around 6-8.

I mean who did they add from last season that will significantly help the team? Calderon, Dalembert Ellington, Larkin, Brown and their 2 draft picks will help them, but they won't make them better than the Cavs, Pacers, Bulls, Heat or even Toronto. They won 37 games last year. This upcoming season, I see improving by 5-10 wins. Still a playoff team, just not top 4.

The Raptors got better too, added to their bench, cut the dead wood (might still do so) and brought back the core that was on a 55 win pace. Who knows if Charlotte gets better.

If everyone is healthy, the East will be better next year. The biggest problem with the East last season was injuries to key players (for example, Rose, Lopez, and Horford all missed significant time).

They are, last year was a fluke. Perfect storm year where everyone had career years and nobody got injured.

They are, last year was a fluke. Perfect storm year where everyone had career years and nobody got injured.

This gives zero credit to the athletic trainers department. Alex McKechnie, Scott McCullough, Rory Mullin, and Ray Chow all did a great job keeping every player in top shape. Only 2 players missed about a significant amount of time playing time due to injury (Hansbrough and Patterson).

The Raptors record last season when a starter missed a game: 13-0. Technically 14-0, because Amir Johnson in a game against Houston re-injured his ankle and played under 3 minutes. So again, we were a deep team and players knew how to step up, even when they were key players missing.

Also, by saying it's a fluke, there were other teams like the Bulls (supposed to tank when they traded Deng), Nets (lost Lopez and had number of injuries and roster, coaching changes last season), Hawks (lost Horford and had a number of injuries to their roster)... could have all folded and missed the playoffs too, but they made it.

In this discussion were assuming everyone is healthy. It isn't fair to knock the Raptors will get injured while the rest of the East stays healthy, especially where this isn't track record of any player on the team (outside of Lowry; Amir Johnson was raw rookie in Detroit who couldn't break through on a veteran roster) who gets injured over the course of their career. And it's a younger team than last year. They have less chance of getting injured than most of the teams in the East.

With all the moves being made in NBA Free Agency the Top 4 teams in the East are: 1. Bulls 2. Cavs 3. Pacers 4. Wizards
3:20 PM - 14 Jul 2014

Here are some other rankings (note the absence of the Heat):

James Herbert, CBSSports.com

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

2. Indiana Pacers

3. Toronto Raptors

4. Chicago Bulls

"This is what signing LeBron James does, and if the Cavs can acquire Kevin Love, they might be championship favorites."

Evan Buhler, Athlon Sports

1. Washington Wizards

2. Cleveland Cavaliers

3. Chicago Bulls

"Two years ago, if the Wizards found their way onto this list, I would have been called delusional. Today, I declare the Washington Wizards the No. 3 team in the league."

Josh Martin, NBA Lead Writer, Bleacher Report

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

2. Indiana Pacers

3. Chicago Bulls

4. Washington Wizards

"With Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah and Gasol in the fold, the Bulls have the deepest frontcourt rotation of any NBA team."

Dan Devine, Yahoo Sports

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

2. Indiana Pacers

3. Toronto Raptors

Honorable mentions: Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls

"(Toronto) is a deep, talented team with defined leadership in re-upped point guard Kyle Lowry, All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan, and do-everything big man Amir Johnson."

seriously losing Lance is gonna take a 56 win team down to sub 40?

you can say the Nets are injury prone.

but to call them old? lol. stop.

Garnett is old.

Who else is old on that team?

Johnson is at the end of his prime but not yet fully ancient. He is veteran mode
Lopez and DWill, however injury prone, are not old.

Mason Plumlee, Teletovic, Bodjanovic, should round out the bench.

You can say the Nets are not very good or are injury prone

but to call them old is just an easy out that shows no brain power (or ability to use the brain) just like mouthing off "2/5"
