Only some losers on a message board would care about that stuff.

Dude is living the life.

Unlike the most calculated player in history, Kobe couldn't care less.

The dude wants to at least pass Jordan in all time career points before he retires. I don't think that hurts his stats at all.

His FG% will drop even lower and his career scoring average will go down but at least he will pass MJ on the all time scoring list.

Kobe doesn't protect percentages and pad stats.

He just plays and does whatever the F he wants to do.

Kobes career stats are already garbage, 25,4,5 on 45% shooting

smh

LeBron is 27.5,7,7 on 50% shooting

and some ppl still say kobe > lebron :facepalm

Kobe barely played and sucked his first two years. He was too skinny like Wiggins is right now. Bran came in at 220 that is why he was good right away.

by that logic Jabari should average 30 and Bennett should have been ROY last year

weight =/= ability

There's only one player in the league who protects his stats so much... LeBronita James.

Kobe is a warrior. A modern day Gladiator. There is no quit in Kobe. There is no fear. Only challenge and courage. Y'all can have your LeBron's and Jordan's. I will take Kobe any day of the week.

He quit on the Lakers last year. Blatant tank job.

Couldn't get the Lakers out of the lottery in '05. Quit on his team in game 7 of the first round against Steve Nash. Quit on his team after blowing a 24 point lead against the Celtics in the Finals.

it's more so a matter of how he feels when he's up against his peers

I feel like when the game gets boring for him, he'll retire.

he's got so many moves he can go to when he's lost an edge in one department.

stats or no stats, most players that are out there at this stage of their career is either for their own ego, or for others

Kobe's actually 25.5,5,5 on 45.5%

If you round generously for Bran, round for Bean the same way

What does he have to protect, his stats already don't come close to matching up with the all time greats... people talk about his longevity but that isn't even great, taking into account his first few years weren't great, and he has become injury prone.

He mights as well keep chucking for the next few years, so people can talk about total points, longevity etc

Who really gives a **** about career averages? You think people are gonna look back and say: "man he only scored 20 ppg at 36 after 2 significant injuries he must've sucked"?

no, but I think among those who played basketball at the age of 36, professionally or not.

they will get a better idea of it all.
whether they'll appreciate him more because of it.

don't know.

I say he plays smarter in the upcoming years and his fg% goes up. Older and wiser.

It will be fun when Kobe is a top 5 MVP candidate again and haters will find whatever excuses to discredit his work.
