Maybe because it's associated with being his Miami number.

Oh, no question about it. 2 rings, 2 MVPs, 2 FMVPs as a Heat. There no doubt about it.
Compare Tim Hardaway's 5 year Heat career to LeBron's 4 year Heat career. There's no question about it.

Well, if LeBron wore 8 or 24...... It then would be a top 10 player's number.

It's a new chapter in his life. He wore 32 his freshman year in high school. That's the number her started with. I expected a number change.

No freakin way. His replacement James Ennis wears #32, they are both athletic, about the same height, and they are both named James. Hopefully the similarities don't stop there.

The reason Lebron went away from #23 was because he felt it should be retired league wide for Jordan.
#6 isn't going to be used because that was his number in Miami.
#32 makes sense because its basically reversing his old cavs number while staying with the whole Jordan number should be retired opinion.

It's not because he's reversing it. He wore #32 his freshman year at St. Vincent St. Mary's. Then wore #23 starting his sophomore season.

Wanna be kobe so bad by switching numbers on 1 team
:kobe:
Good for jersey sales
More leagues need to take advantage of their star players changing jersey #s and teams.
MLB could make a nice dime with Trout jerseys in NY, Bos, Chicago, etc.
Technically.
technically or not it's still two teams :lol

We sure as hell knew he wouldn't be going back to #23.
This cawksucker is trying to milk as much money as he can from the economically weak. If he went back to his old number none of them would waste their money on the new jersey(ok I take that back, some of them probably still would)

I like it. His #6 should be reserved for his Miami years.
Plus, way down the road when all of his career highlights are being put together, you will be able to tell at which stage he was in his career during said highlight.
On top of that, he's making a push to have 23 retired NBA-wide. If that number is retired around the league, what will the Cavs retire when that time comes?
It's a good call.
Wonder if he had to get an OK from Larry Hughes, though? :pimp:
