I thought this deserved its own thread. I think the Heat will have a better record than the Knicks and be in the playoffs. Who do you think will be the better team?

Depends on Wade's health.

Knicks downgraded by trading Tyson Chandler... And were a lotto team anyway. Heat still have two all stars and possibly Luol Deng coming in. So... Yeah miami

People who think Tyson Chandler is a good player, this "defensive anchor" just listen to ESPN and dont actually watch the games.

Tyson has never averaged 2 blocks per game in any season throughout his entire NBA career.

He's also become an extremely lazy player on the defensive end where many times he wouldnt contest a shot completely due to a lack of effort. For a guy who is a "specialist" on one side of the floor, he sure doesnt do that great of a job at it.

However, im sure hell try harder considering this is a contract year for him.

Atleast Dalembert wont get raped by Hibbert like Tyson continually did

No clue on this question yet, the Heat don't have many players under contract right now.

Heat without a doubt, the Knicks are one of the worst teams in the league.

Heat. Unless there's unforeseen injuries.

Yall people are funny, quick to dismiss their 54 win season as a fluke but 37 wins last season
MUST be what they really are.

How are they getting better? Is Melo taking a step forward? Is Amare?

They're going to be worse than that 37 win team and the rest of the East will be better.

They finished behind a Hawks team that didn't have their BEST PLAYER for essentially the whole entire season. This isn't a good/competitive/relevant team.

Jose Calderon is MASSIVE upgrade over Failton, Hardaway JR. should get better. Dally is the same player as Tyson just can only play 20min a game. JR and Amare
started last season poorly because they were coming off offseason injuries. Shumpert can't possibly get worse than he was last year. Knicks have unknown new young talent in Early and Larkin. Woodson couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Last year could not have possibly went worse and they still only missed the playoffs by 1 game.

AND let's not forget that the Knicks are 16-5 with Phil Jackson as the GM, his presence alone adds 5-10 wins.

I think they'll be a little bit better and contend for the playoffs for a couple of reasons.

1.) They got rid of Mike Woodson, no one was buying what he was selling. I think the Derek Fisher experiment will work out better than what the Nets did with Kidd.

2.) They have a true point guard now that looks to run the point and he does it efficiently. Calderon > Felton IMO.

I agree on both those points actually, especially Woodson, I know first-hand how awful he is.

That being said, losing Tyson Chandler isn't some trivial thing. He's like 2 years removed from being DPOY.

Also the East has gotten better. The Cavs are now obviously a top team. The Heat aren't championship contenders anymore but I don't see a team with Bosh, Wade, and Deng/Stephenson/whoever they get missing the playoffs. The Hawks get Horford back. The Hornets will pay someone big money, (LANCE) and improve.

I just don't see the Knicks in the playoffs.

Expecting Phil as a GM to make you 5-10 wins better is just ludicrous. If anythign having a rookie coach who has NEVER coached before will make you worse.

It will be the Cavaliers and the Pacers in the ECF. The Bulls will finish the third and the Wizards, the Heat and the Hawks will compete for the 4th seed. Then there are the Raptors. The Knicks are a notch below and will compete for the final playoff spot with the Bobcats and the Nets with the Knicks having the smallest shot of them all.

Get over the fact that Horford missed time, he's spent a large part of 2 of the last 4 seasons out. He's clearly a frequent injury risk. I don't know why you go out of your way to bash the Knicks, must be boring in Atlanta, does your sister not want any action tonight or something?
