we have threads on any player re signing or being traded and we always have. Especially when they are a piece on a contending team.

I like how they went out and picked up Granger and McRoberts in addition to Deng. Those guys can certainly rough up Lebron. Maybe make him lose a headband in a game or something.

As soon as I saw those two signings I had a feeling he was leaving.

Riley is an asshole like that. He will do shit like that no matter who you are. He was willing to fight Shaq in front of everyone, and I'm sure he is willing to f*ck around with Bron mentally too after he knew he checked out.

So its the same team, but with Deng (a very above average replacement) for LBJ.

Given how weak the east is they should make the Finals yet again since LBJ's team was so stacked right? What will the kobe fans/lbj haters say if they dont make the finals with such a stacked cast and Deng replacing LBJ (that would be like Dragic replacing CP3)?

bench scoring..

heat could have used that in the finals:lol

ThatsGame

It's a fairly solid team.

I think the biggest problem of all, and one you can't really replace is LeBron's impact on the opponents defense. He is the best player in the world and you have to respect him and that leaves shooters wide open. That makes it SO much easier, and without that its going to be difficult.

Actually, I think you have to give Beasley a look now. The Heat are gonna have to go back to the pre-2011 strategy of playing slow games, but they have a lot more size.

But they need scoring wherever they can get it, so if Beasley could learn not to be a defensive disaster and can provide 15 - 20 minutes off the bench, that would be tremendous.

I don't know what they're contract situations are exactly, but if you could somehow salvage anything from him and Oden at a low cost, you have to take the chance.

I'm proud just proud that they're gonna fight. They're not gonna roll over and die. The Heat are bigger than one player. Always have been. Always will.

(I don't know if they're bigger than Riles though.)

Man, Miami really need to get something more going on that front court. Looks weak as hell now without Lebron filling all of these holes. Dude kinda fu*ked them over

Miami will get really exposed now.
No front court
No real back court either, you basically have 3 below average PG's and nothing behind injury prone Wade. With Lebron there the importance of a good point guard wasn't a priority but now you actually have to rely on Chalmers to do point guard things which is not a good sign.
And obviously small ball doesn't work anymore without Lebron.

Miami should have offered Gasol whatever he wanted instead. Bosh and Gasol together would have been a good start.

Although, looking forward to seeing Cole grow in a bigger role and seeing Bosh being a #1 guy again.

Apparently paying Birdman handsomely. $10M/2 years. I wonder what they gave Chalmers. A two year deal close to his last salary? I mean DJ Augustin just got $3M/year from Detroit and Mills got $4M/year from Spurs. Nate Duncan speculated if they brought him back that $15M/3 years would be reasonable. Still think this squad needs another defensive big. I know Haslem is useful in spots but how much more does he have in the tank?

Regarding Pau Gasol, I think he could have been a nice pickup. Unless he was not interested in basketball past couple years (which is understandable to a degree), his defense fell way off. Not sure if that would have been a net-positive for this squad. Offensively, for sure, but can he guard anybody anymore? Good thing though could have been selling Gasol on Heat staying loyal to players so he could stick around beyond next year and recruit his brother to come.

Birdman deserves a good deal imo. He's really worked his ass off for this team. The Chalmers signing on the other hand is a bad move. He's horrible.

Give it a fvcking rest, Pauk. The only thing that concerns you is the density and flavor of Lebron's manjam. You don't give a shit about the team he used to be on.
