The realistic candidates, the one's you'll almost always see in the top 10 (yes, I know I have 11), who do you think received the most help teammate & coaching wise in their career, and who do you think received the least amount?

Jordan
Russell
Kareem
Wilt
Magic
Bird
Duncan
Hakeem
Shaq
Kobe
LeBron

Hakeem and LBJ outside of 3 of his 4 years in Miami.

However LBJ had a great team for 3 of the 4 years and Hakeem had a great team in the 80's. He did however have jack sh*t for most of the 90's although the lack of name talent during his championships did produce for him. Its not always about names, but more about production.

Are you talking about just the championship years? Hakeem started his career on a pretty stacked team that made the finals right away. Later in his career, he played with Drexler, Barkley, and Pippen.

Pretty much agree with this, I would also add Bird with the most help too.

Then Kareem had the most help. Imagine playing with another top 5 player. :oldlol:

Least help - in terms of number of years spent with at least close-to-championship worthy help

Hakeem (~4 years)
Lebron/Jordan (~6-7 years)
Wilt(~8 years) * several past prime years

Most help

Russell(~13 years)
Kareem(~13 years) * lots of past prime years
Magic/Bird(~11-12 years)

2 questions

At what point in your life did you embrace becoming a professional idiot?

And does it pay well, you make it look so easy

Don't agree with Duncan being way down there, he's generally had a weaker 2-3rd option - which is what most people use I guess - but he's been on great teams basically his whole career.

BTW, it's not just about the "help" that a GOAT player had, but how much their competition had, as well. Bird played on stacked rosters his entire career, but he also had to battle the stacked Sixers of the first half of the decade of the 80's; the stacked Pistons of the second half of the decade of the 80's; and then the Lakers of the entire decade of the 80's.

Dwight and Kobe never started a playoff game as starters as the 7th seed...

:facepalm
