Free agent Grant Jerrett has reached agreement on a multi-year contract to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a league source told RealGM.

Jerrett, a 6-foot-10 forward, played for the Thunder’s D-League team – the Tulsa 66ers – last season and had been a development priority for the organization. The Thunder declined the 2014-15 team option on Jerrett, opting to make him a restricted free agent. Both sides came to terms on Monday afternoon.

Jerrett averaged 15.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in 27 games for Tulsa. An ankle injury in early July prevented him from playing in the NBA Summer League.

After one season at the University of Arizona, Jerrett, 21, declared into the NBA Draft and went to the Portland Trail Blazers with the 40th overall selection.

We signed one of the top 5 3pt shooters in the league for 3 yr, 3.3M a year with a team option in the 3rd year

meanwhile Jodie Meeks getting 6.5M a year and Caron Butler getting 5M a year :lol :lol

We don't have to do shit. With an injured Ibaka, an overworked Durant, and Brooks in a position to overplay vets (can't do that next season) we took the Spurs to 6 games and nearly 7.

Jerrett is a 3pt specialist. A stretch 4. Basically a Ryan Anderson clone from a skillset standpoint. Coming out of HS he was one of the top guys all of the teams were courting but he went to Arizona who had a stacked frontline and he didn't play much but declared for the draft anyways.

In draft workouts he had some where he put up tons of shots and still shot like 72% from deep. Presti is signing him now while his value is low. It's a smart move.

He won't see the court

Not this year but next year when Nick Collison and Perkins leave he easily could. Thats what the deal is about.

Presti loves 1st round contracts because they are low risk and high reward. Thats basically what he's signing Jerrett for this offseason while we have a little wiggle room with our cap space and his value is low.

These casuals don't get it though, they want teams to come out guns blazing in free agency like Darryl Morey or some shit :oldlol: :oldlol:

Our biggest need last year was 3pt shooting. We've since added one of the best 3pt shooters in the league and have locked up one of the most promising young 3pt shooting prospects in the league. Our offseason is going great.

That Gasol shit was just a longshot worth trying if he had interest because the value was too good to pass up. But with Ibaka, Adams, McGary, Collison, and Perkins (has his uses), our frontlines are looking good for next year. What we needed most was 3pt shooting and now we have it.

another stacked piece contributing towards a stacked team. Championship or bust.
