He gets his $42MM back - obviously likely wouldn't be able to sign for 2-years, $9MM per two years from now, but he's earned it. Overall, this is good for the franchise.

No it's not, you got 40m/ yr locked up on players that arent very good anymore.

4 years 44 million with a team option on the fourth would have been reasonable. guy will probably play 60% of the season, he should be paid accordingly

you can't do that to him, he walked away from 2years/40million. i say this assuming the heat and wade had an understanding prior to him opting out. i hate the guy, but you can't fault either side for this deal. seems reasonable compared to what he opt'd out of.

It's good because it shows that both Wade and Riley are loyal, unlike Lebron. Wade had a contract for $42MM for two years - he didn't opt out to take less total money, he opted out to take less per year. Lebron leaves, and Wade STILL takes a lower annual salary, pretty good.

Anyways, yes its a bit of a goodwill play here (with the extra $18MM), but Wade has earned it. He has given his all to this franchise.

Bosh is overpaid.

i'd take a 20/10 big man in the prime of his life for the max on LA any day of the week

Bosh is 30 and has only averaged 10 rebounds in 3 of his 11 seasons. Overpaid.

So the Heat payroll looks something like this:

Bosh - 20M
Wade - 15M
Deng - 10M
McRobers - 6M
Anderson - 5M
Chalmers - 4M
Haslem - 3M
Cole - 2M

That's a total of 65M for 8 players, so Miami will be well over the cap by the time they fill out all 15 spots.

Chris Anderson has got to be the most athletic 36 year old PF that's ever played the game.

I'm saying his criteria for Bosh being overpaid is dumb. We all know it's more about market value than production value.

In the playoffs? It's his career average. But since we're talking about first option Bosh without Lebron and prime Wade, postseason is irrelevant I guess. Can't compare the two.

Karl was a different type of athletic beast, but he continued to score efficiently at 36 mostly due to skill and power. However, in terms of leaping power and explosiveness for a PF, no 36 year old comes to mind.

I don't think Bosh is overpaid. Dude will put up 26 and 12 this season.

How is 15 million a season for Wade overpaid? Ur telling me he's not at least 3 times more productive than Jodie meeks? Giving deals to the roles players is what will hurt the Heat
