The difference is that Dwight was the only semi-young player with true talent on that team. The heat have Bosh already that can be a centerpiece for them, with Wade in the kobe role.

The Heat and most of the fans have handled it very well, which is disappointing to some because people love to feast on meltdowns.

The Dwightmare era Lakers were terrible. Say what you want about injuries, age, whatever. But when you look at all the hype, they were a hilarious trainwreck.

They should have put "Leave." billboards up if you ask me.

Miami retired Michael Jordan's number, despite him never playing 1 second for the team.

To be fair, the Heat did something similar for Wade back in 2010. It was a Billboard of a check, with Wade's name on it . But it's one thing to do it for your franchise legend in Wade, and it's another to do it for a clown whom never wanted to play for your franchise like Dwight. :oldlol:

So what is your point really, because how does this relate to LeBron, who played for 4 years and played well for them?

that they didn't even do it for lebron who played 4 years there while the lakers did it for someone who played 1 season and didnt accomplish anything

So you think it would be okay for the Heat to do it for LeBron?

it wouldn't be as bad but it still would be pretty bad...i dont think its good to do for kobe/wade either but it's definitely more acceptable.

Understood. Was confused for a moment because it sounded like you were okay with it. If so, then it shouldn't be considered "sinking to these depths" for LeBron.

I have no idea why its bad to tell a player they want them back with signs.

Its worse to disrespect players like Houston has done because nobody will want to sign there knowing their organization treats them like garbage.

It's not actually retired. It's right next to a Dan Marino jersey who also has his #13 jersey "retired." Neither are with the Tim Hardaway/Zo jerseys, or with the championship banners. They're in the nosebleeds.

It's listed on their wiki page as a retired number. 13 however is not listed.

I am pretty sure LeBron switched to 6 due to 23 not being available.

Instead LeBron gets a threatening press conference tirade from his GM.

Because Riley asked for a meeting after the Finals and was told he had to talk to Rich Paul.

I'm sorry, but LeBron was still technically a member of the Heat until he could opt out, meaning Riley was his boss (not to mention the fact that he's Pat ****ing Riley and LBJ's resume pales by comparison). And if your boss asks to meet with you, you meet.

That's why Riley held that presser.
