Wade and Bosh should point at it every time they play Lebron.

What about teams that haven't one titles ?

Vienceslav

That's the best thing I've ever seen.
Will players who won a Christmas MVP have a little Christmas tree on their jersey as well?

Lebron: "I will not rest until I bring a gold tabbed jersey to city of Cleveland."

Do OKC Thunder get one for Seattle Sonics?

Should just use it on defending champions only if they're really using it.

Anyway, seems pointless to me.

bluechox2
07-15-2014, 06:22 PM
they should personalize it only to players who brought titles

NumberSix
07-15-2014, 06:23 PM
Honestly, they should do this for PLAYERS with championships. I mean, Derrick Rose will have the champion tab but LeBron won't?

-Lebron23-
07-15-2014, 06:24 PM
They wanted to copy soccer and their national team jerseys 'HEY, GREAT IDEA...'

Then they thought of Lakers and Celtics 'FVCK!!!' and someone came up with this BS idea, probably Adam Silver... or the moron in Adidas that designs Derrick Rose shoes

Seriously? Some people need to realize the NBA exists outside of internet msgboards where it's only about individual players legacies. LeBron James and Rose won't be around in 15 years, Chicago and Cleveland will. NBA is still a team sport and championships are team accomplishments.

Yeah it is about the legacy of the Franchises....

So teams like the Blazers and Warriors who won in the 70's will have them.

So teams that won't.....

They should make a different gold tab for each amount of titles like Call of Duty prestige.

BuffaloBill
07-15-2014, 07:31 PM
Don't like this. They should either only reward the current champions, or do what this guy said

They need to do some kind of star series like the Bundesliga. That would be way cooler than this.. which isn't at all cool.

1 Championship = 1 Star
3 Championships = 2 Stars
5 Championships = 3 Stars
10 Championships = 4 Stars
20 Championships = 5 stars

They could put the Stars around either a tiny team logo or the NBA logo
Edit: The Lakers could look something like this

I like the idea with the 1-5 stars around the logo someone tweet that to NBA.

This is dumb. At most they should provide the gold tab for teams that won the championship the year before.

Lebron back to zero rings.

This works for international soccer to some degree because playing for your country has a certain pride to it. Every player that pulls on a Brazil jersey (maybe a bad example after this WC lol!) will see the 5 stars and that can be really meaningful in regards to national pride and all that. But for clubs it just doesn't have the same impact I feel like. Especially with the draft system rather then European academy systems where players have often been there since they were 6 years old.

If you thought it was stupid before - there's this: I read that the Kings will have the tab as "they" won as the Rochester Royals.

If this is true it's just silly.

Why? The rafters aint enough?

Incredibly unnecessary..... but why not at least have a Larry O'brien patch with a number showing how many championships a team won? Why not at least have that "gold tab" exist only on the jerseys of the most recent champions (defending champions)?

Every player on the Bulls will have a gold tab, none of the Cavs players will. Let's act like they give two fcks for a second...

Taking something from the soccer crowd. I see nothing wrong with it, next will be the advertisements.

Nice, so Rose will have a gold on his jersey whereas LeBron won't. :facepalm I have two questions:

1) Who is the idiot who came up with this?
2) Why does that idiot still have a job?

Soccer teams do it, but they use stars for each title instead of just a gold tab. You can understand why using stars wouldn't make sense though - especially for the Celtics and Lakers, and to a lesser extent Bulls and Spurs.

retarded as ****. should be only if you won the championship with the team/franchise, not from 20 fking years ago.

After seeing these gold tabs in action, I cannot say I'm a fan. I like the idea but it's too broad to me. It seems more teams have them than not, and they all virtually look the same, so they kind of just feel like random yellow tab additions.

I'm not sure if the star idea on the previous page is the absolute answer, but I think I'd support something like that just because it'd create a little differentiation between teams.

I think that any team that has won a title should hang a banner up in the rafters. No need for anything on the jerseys. Not a single player on the Rockets roster was playing for them the last time Houston won a title. Why put it on their jersey?

I feel like the only people upset at this are the ones whose favorite teams won't have this patch.

Also who cares if the players weren't on the team... Was anyone on Brazil the last time a star was thrown on their jersey in 2002?

I think this is a cool idea... in this day of advanced metrics so many people get lost and forget the bottom line... how many W's or titles

not many business people or business majors on this site obviously...

not many business people or business majors on this site obviously...As a Pistons fan, I just wish there was a better way of denoting how many times each team has won. The yellow-on-yellow text and font makes it nearly impossible to read from anywhere farther than 3 feet away.

http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/files/2014/07/spurs-uniforms-championships.jpg

As it stands now, all the patches look the same so it sort of just feels like everyone's like, "We're all champions... except for like, nine random teams out there. But the rest of us, we're all champions and we're the same."

That's why I thought the star idea mentioned on the last page made some sense, but I don't know if it's the perfect answer. Maybe warm-up denotations? Like the all-star warm-ups?
