He was no. 6 in the 2013 Draft, but experts would have taken him at no.1, except for his injury. The 2013 Draft was considered a weak draft.

In this loaded 2014 Draft, in what order would Noel have been selected?

As he is now, with no injury.

So would Embiid, Wiggins, and Parker go over Noel with what we now know having observed Noel at the Summer League?

Some teams, going on need, instead of best player available, might take him over Wiggins or Parker, or even Embiid, just because he's injured.

1. Wiggins
2. Parker
3. Noel

With no injury, I think he goes over Embiid.

not sure what you mean. he never suffered the injury or he's injury free going into the draft?

it's anywhere between 2-4. he might slip by embiid if the injury wasn't going into the draft. still, embiid's ceiling is much higher. he has one of the highest ceilings of the past decade.

If Noel went into the 2014 Draft totally injury free from college, how high would he have gone? Let's say the other facts about the 2014 Draft stay the same with Embiid's injury, could he have gone over any of the big 3(Embiid, Parker, Wiggins)?

Some teams draft on need, some draft on best player available. Based on need, the Cavs might have actually taken him no. 1 overall.

Since we now know that the Cavs have been targeting Lebron, might have they drafted him no. 1 overall?

Going to be fun watching him against Randle tonight. Only summer league but should be a fun matchup.

1,3 or 4. Assuming we are talkin a healthy Noel. Where he could work out for the Cavs.

If he was healthy he woulda gone number 1 last year. And this year he woulda gone number 4.

I agree. It's amazing that the Sixers are finally drafting players that could be serious pieces on a possible title team. After years of mediocre picks, it's exciting.

Here's some info on Joel Embiid's health from Philly.com:

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/20140716_Embiid_s_surgeon_optimistic_about_7-footer_s_future.html

Even before he stepped into his Los Angeles office to deliver the diagnosis that changed everything about this year's NBA draft, that might yet change everything for the 76ers, surgeon Richard Ferkel already had taken the measure of the sweet, 7-foot-tall kid who would soon lie on an operating table in front of him.

In an exclusive interview with The Inquirer, his first since performing the surgery that is supposed to salvage the career of Joel Embiid, Ferkel described in depth the nature of Embiid's injury and the process by which he will treat it. More, he sounded a note of optimism that the Sixers were right to select Embiid with the draft's No. 3 pick and wait for him to recover from a stress fracture in the navicular bone in his right foot.

By his own estimation, Ferkel has done between 20 and 30 navicular-fracture surgeries, and in terms of the injury's severity and the patient's likelihood for a full recovery, he said that Embiid's situation was far from the worst of those.

"Once he's fully healed, his chances of having a long career are very good," Ferkel said in a phone interview. "There's no reason he shouldn't have a great NBA career and be very successful. Once this heals, hopefully this won't be an issue for him in the future."
