http://motherboard.vice.com/read/comcast-investigating-customer-service-call-from-hell
In the recording—by turns hilarious and infuriating—Block attempts to have his Comcast service disconnected. For nearly ten minutes, the Comcast representative interrogates Block about why he wants to disconnect his service and disparages Astound, the West Coast broadband provider that Block is switching to.
Talk about horrendous customer service.. The rep literally gets very aggressive and goes nuts

TV, Internet, and Phone companies all suck dick. I'm shocked at how little research people put into these companies before signing contracts with them and shit.
I just recently changed my phone plan from 50 a month with Sprint (was on my moms family plan) to roughly 10-15 a month (while using my phone exactly as much as before) with a prepaid company called PagePlus. And the best part is that I get even better service (more bars) now.
Managing these three services (phone, tv, internet) and doing research can save you like 200-300 a month (if not more) while getting the same or even better service. I'm surprised that more people don't do it more often.

For example, lets say you only watch TV whenever you're bored or an NBA game is on.
You could pay just 15 dollars (one time) and have a lifetime of Netflix and League Pass if you know the right people like I do.
Add in something like Chromecast which costs 35 dollars and you can easily stream these to your TV making it just as simple as using regular cable.

Thanks. I'm planning on moving in the next few weeks. This will do me well.

The main thing I've learned is to avoid all contract based services.
Hell I just paid a 180 dollar fee just to leave Sprint and save me more money in the long run. Most people would refuse to do this because they don't think big picture.
In general I've learned that paying for shit upfront is always the better way to go about doing things because it eliminates having a bunch of monthly payments and keeps you far more flexible financially.

I have ATT uverse. I love it. 1 year contracts.
What i do is at the end of my year, i call up Dish and/or Direct TV, Cox, etc., and tell them i'm thinking about switching and what kind of deals can i get for switching. They give me their best quote.
I take that quote and call ATT and tell them i'm going to switch to ____, here is the quote.
There is no standards for pricing in these businesses. good deals can be had as long as you are polite and don't talk out of your ass.
Im so nba'd out

Jesus Christ never heard a customer service person sound so desperate to keep a customer you would think he was getting paid off commission or something.

doesny work from my experience. I try to recyle service companies after my promotion is up and they have a 200 to 300 mandatory installation even if u have your own modem or router.

I've worked retention for Comcast, and dude was doing his job, after the third "no".
But to point this out as one of the worst calls is idiotic. I've heard reps calling customers idiots and nearly done so myself a few times, though that was while doing Troubleshooting in the Atlanta area.
I mean, I had this dude who was having shitty tv reception, I ask him if the coax cable is connected to the wall, he asks me which one it is, I tell him, and dude just pulled it out of the wall with some of the interior wirings coming out as well :facepalm

Pageplus is shit.
Republic Wireless >>>
$25 unlimited talk, text and 5 gigs of 3G Data (Then, drops down to 2G speeds) Or $40 for 5 gigs of 4G data.
Also, paying $200 annually for the blackbox, to get every channel/PPV event trumps all.

Its a box, that is black.
Really though, its like your typical digital cable box, but it provides you every channel, whether its local, premium or PPV events, for a one time/annual fee of $200-500 depending on where you are/get it from.

ah i figured as much
i guess you need to know a sort of shady hook up or take a risk with random internet site/guy selling it.
man i wish i could get one tho. would save me so much
back before they did digital i had a guy who put a chip in the old cable boxes so i could get the pay channels so i guess its similar to that. i knew him from HS but those days are long gone.

As a former TWC retention agent I can attest to this as well. Your job is to attempt to keep customers @ the same level of service, same price, and if they want to leave then attempt to influence there decision by telling them the negatives of the competitor company.
Im glad Im done with it. Stressful job. Ive been called a gay mother****er, a blithering retard, and told to kill myself as just a few examples of how a customer will treat you on the phone.

you get unlimited tv shows and movies. the chromecast part is still in beta but i can get it to work most of the time and it's great.
the legality is kinda gray since you are streaming the torrent and not actually downloading the content, but the app also includes a vpn to mask your ip.
damn. nice.

Decent pay, but so much pressure from both sides being that from the customers and the company managers. You're forced to toe the line with every customer regardless of the situation. It wears you down to where you can't even enjoy your days off sometimes because you're so exhausted mentally.
