Dude is making how much I'm making every year. Damn.

I remember when he was on Toronto, thought he'd be huge. I could see him breaking out in LA doe.

Great signing, a lot of teams in the league could use him especially at that price

He plays similar to Randle. Probably comes off the bench.

Glad to see he'll still be in the league.

Love this pick up. fills that bench big were looking for. the potential is still there for him, and he'll be getting more consistent minutes than he was with memphis

If only the Lakers were gifted the stacked rosters Lebron gets. Unfortunately franchises cannot jump from franchise to franchise because they are franchises themselves. That is a luxury only the highest quality cheaters like Lebron can afford. It is pity.

Ed Davis has so much potential. We should have signed him for that price. :facepalm

7 footer signing that kinda deal?

That is a very good deal. Only 2 Million for 2 years for him? Great signing.

kennethgriffin
07-16-2014, 10:45 PM
averages well over 10rpg per 36 minutes.. efficiently over 50+ fg's every year

why not.

This is actually a really good signing at that price

0% chance he takes the team option. Hopefully for Ed's sake he gets the minutes he deserves in order to prove himself.

Best value of the offseason, he was awesome
On the Raps

hes an offensive rebounding machine. great at put backs. great at lobs. can move really well without the ball

soft hands around the rim.

hes just not very good at anything else. pretty much no offensive go to moves.

he's basically playing the role of dennis rodman out there. but obviously not nearly as good

he's worth about 4-5 mill

oh the horror

On this laker team he'll def get minutes.

Levity
07-16-2014, 10:56 PM
yep. for a couple months on the raps, he was seeing aobut 30 mins a game and put up about 12/8 and a 1+ block. he'll probably see his fair share of 30+ minute games this season knowing hill's health history.

is this LA's annual rags to riches player?

He was hitting the mid-range J quite consistently before the Rudy trade.

When signing a 6-10 player, with a career 7 ppg, 6 rpg, average is considered "breaking news"...clearly the Lakers have fallen about as far as they can go.

bdreason

I can see why Davis would take this deal actually. I bet he got offered more money elsewhere, but nobody would guarantee him minutes. If he can't get more than 20ish MPG, he'll never get that big payday. If Davis blows up this year, he can opt out, and maybe get an extended 10m/y type deal.

SwishSquared
07-16-2014, 11:16 PM
He's a pretty nice young piece, especially on the cheap. Was thinking some contender-types would be looking to sign him to bolster the bench frontcourt rotation, but he'll likely get plenty of playing opportunities as a Laker. Weren't Clippers interested in him? Guess he figured there wouldn't be many minutes playing behind Blake/DJ/Hawes.

would make sense. if things go davis' way and he becomes something in LA, hill is a 9$ mil team option for the lakers next year, so they can easily decline that option and give that money to davis.

10-11 mil per season for both Hill and Davis is actually a very good deal imo, cannot beleive the Kings did not offer Davis a similar deal and promise him the starting spot.....

Much happier with this than a Boozer signing.. Better to go young with possible upside than old with nothing but downside in the future

You're being stupid.

There is a "BREAKING" post for both the Warriors signing Brandon Rush and the Magic signing Luke Ridnour.

So, you're wrong, as usual.

And if you quote my quite obviously sarcastic post, then I weep for humanity.

I don't give fcuk what anyone says..this is a definite playoff squad with one more solid decent signing.

Coach Byron Scott
Kobe
Lin
Jordan hill
Ed Davis
Kendall Marshall
Nick young
Julius randle

And add a signing like Evan turner that's a 45-50 win team

no pun intended

That's probably still the 2nd worst WCF squad. Only Utah is worse than them.

Unless you think Kobe can actually play well for 82 games, which is unprecedented.

I'm ready to see how bad Kobe is when it comes regular season time and the team needs him to win a few ball games.

he shouldn't be playing at 100% 75/70% of the time. But should be playing 70/75% 100% of the time.

Evan Turner though, he might be going for the slowest slasher since Manu/Harden with this squad.
