Laker News: Lakers sign Ed Davis 2 yrs/$2m/1m per year

The Lakers agreed to terms with free-agent power forward Ed Davis on a two-year contract worth $2 million, adding some depth to a severely understaffed frontcourt.

i've never heard of the guy, but looking at his stats he looks pretty efficient with the limited minutes he has played. per 36 mins around 10 pts/10 rbs/2 blks @ 50%. he averaged 15 mins last season and shot over 50% the past 4 seasons (averaged 20 mins in 4 seasons)

A young dude with potential pretty efficient perimeter shooter with hops plays both ends. Though Lakers his 3rd team in 4 years but still young 25 y/o Davis never really had playing time more than 25 minutes per game and given his cheap contract 2 year 2 mil its a steal I like this signing!!!:rockon:

I dont know much about Ed Davis, we got him on the cheap and he's still young. From the articles I read, hes a banger and a rebounder. Hopefuly he can log some minutes at center!

It is probably a good deal and at the right price... realize the Lakers do not have a true center other than Sacre, and I hate his game. Simply put, he sucks.... So, I hope these guys like Hill and Davis can fill the gaps. They cannot play an up-tempo game as that will just kill Kobe. They have to be pragmatic with their style of play if Kobe is their centerpiece.
