Whose seen this movie? I loved it. It's a bit over the top and artsy, but overall it was a great movie. If you can relate in any way with the characters then the climax isn't as shocking, but if not then it blows you away. It's really intense.
And i was dying laughing with the "ass to ass!" guy. ****in epic. Me and my friend rewound that part like 10 times

Welcome to 2000
It's good. Shawn wayans does a good job.
Not hard when you really a junky playing a junkie doe.
Accurate junkie movie. Aronosfsky does a good job showing how hard drugs AND diet pills/show could cause same damage.
I literally FELT moved at the end.
Pi is better IMO. Aronosfsky's first film. Thought provoking next level shit.

Check this hipster out. He doesn't watching anything before the year 2010.
The movie isn't about what drugs and diet pills do, but rather the mechanisms that drives people towards it and how similar they are. It's the "why" that's trying to be addressed, not the cause and effect of drugs. It wasn't even that accurate either the examples were dramatic/worse case scenario to have an effect. The basketball diaries is an accurate junkie movie, not this, it was more artsy and manipulative to get the message across.
You probably didn't understand Pi either. I'll watch it and explain it for you some other day

The basketball diaries is a good junkie movie, not this, but the drugs is all secondary and a plot device.

It was at one time credited as having more cuts than any film ever made. And there's what almost has to be a deliberate increase in the tempo of the cuts as the film wears on. The cuts come faster, the scenes get shorter. The whole thing becomes sort of a sticcatto rhythm. And it gives this rushed effect that sort of puts the audience into the characters state of mind, where everything is happening faster and faster and the time they have to get to that next high is getting shorter and shorter, making the desperate choices they make feel more and more valid.
It's a good movie, but I agree Bless the Hipster. Pi is a better flick. The film making in Requiem is awesome, but the narrative is kind of meh. And it just kind of falls flat over repeated viewings. I wish he had better resources when Pi was done, because it's got a ton of Aranofsky's stylized approach, and the story is the most intriguing of his stuff to me. But I'm also a bit of a math guy and like conspiracy stuff, and I just like Aranofsky. I even loved Black Swan which I know a lot of people just hated. But as much as I like the grainy look, Pi is a little too rough sometimes visually.

Second this. There's cool scenes but the plot drags.
