Kobe: "I can sit here and tell you with 100 percent honesty that I'm happy with the effort the organization put forward this summer"

Ramona Shelburne ‏@ramonashelburne 1m

Kobe "I think Mitch has responded quite efficiently (from missing on Melo/Pau) by picking up some of the pieces he has"

Kobe is a sell out beta now. Dude is content with cashing checks on a lottery team. I have lost all respect for this clown.

I mean to be honest what can he say? I have a huge hold on our cap space, so it's our Gm's fault we're not getting max guys?

A sixth title was realistically out of reach when he tore his Achilles in 2013... You just saw it in his body language.

Cutting his loss with this dream is probably healthy for him.

I think Kobe over the past year has come to grips with his basketball mortality. Having said that, there's only a handful of players who can rightfully say have had more productive careers, so if he quit tomorrow his legacy is in stone.

oh the horror

Dude, shut the fu*k up :oldlol:

And if he took less and took a secondary role to another star player you'd spin that.

Or he takes his big contract and says he's NOT okay with the moves that were made, you'd talk shit too.

Just stop while you're ahead.

Wait, since when is it a negative thing when a player publicly supports his team, which in turn also helps them sign more good players going forward. Not to mention a team that has repaid his loyalty with a favorable contract to retirement.

Not only that, he is showing support for his new team mates as well.

What do you want him to say?

And where did it say here that he is ok with no more titles?

Nice stretch.

wut? So you, random internet poster, are mocking a player in the twilight of his career for winning only 5 championships (while being an automatic HOF entry), and also making a zillion dollars in the process? Nice. So i guess you'll be mocking Duncan too for only winning 5 rings? You must also leave bags of flaming dog-doo on Larry Bird's front porch for only winning 3 times?

im mocking the fact that kobe was overrated for a 5 time champion compared to players who actually deserve 5 rings like duncan. he was carried by shaq and got bailed out by mwp in game 7. if you think that's false you need to rewatch those games.

kobe's legacy in the top 10 is prolly that of the dude who did the most with the least basketball talent/physical gifts. everything he earned was through hardwork and dedication. How can you hate that? if you compare him to other top 10s only larry bird is prolly less athletically gifted than kobe, but bird's celtics were way more stacked than kobe's teams. He is compared with 7 footers and three wing players that were either more physically gifted than him or a 6'9'' PG. IMO this is what makes kobe so great.

I miss Frobe. Young, sexy, and motivated to win titles. Not the old, broken down, ugly, complacent salary cap rapist version of Kobe.

He definitely didn't want to work hard for the NJ Nets and try to get them their 1st title. He told them not to draft him.

Lame thing for an unproven teenager to do.

This...is ridiculous :oldlol: .

So Kobe says that he needs more help after signing his contract and that he wasn't a fan of the team put together. People throw a hissy fit and complain that he has no right to say that and should be supportive of the team rather than throwing them under the bus.

This interview, Kobe says the direct opposite and people are still ragging on him for being a beta and being okay with having more championships. Kobe could cure cancer and people would still find a way to downplay that.

Just from watching his press conferences the last two years, he just seems more at peace with things. He is channeling his inner Ghandi. :oldlol:

Also I agree with you. Kobe has achieved so much. His legacy is set. But I hope he still comes out with that warrior mind set this season.

So it's Kobe's fault (an unproven teenager at the time as you said) that Calipari didn't stick to his guns and call Jerry West's/Tellem's bluff? :confusedshrug: Kobe has said himself he would have played anywhere, he was just 17 and he wanted to ball or something along this lines.

You're right. That was unearned arrogance. He also didn't humble himself as a rookie. He didn't take to hazing at all. Even MJ put himself at the bottom of the totem pole when he first came in.

But doesn't make what I said wrong, though. He still worked harder and accomplished more than the majority of NBA players in history.
