Believe me when I say, it ain't about his skills. Jimmer, IMO, is the best shooter in the world. Jimmer is an underrated ball handler, a great pick and roll player, and he has an arsenal of offensive moves that rival the great scorers in the league. He is much stronger than given credit for and can finish with contact.
The questions remains...
Why has Jimmer never been given a legit opportunity to shine after improving immensely since his rookie campaign? Westphal believed in Jimmer, but he was canned after just a few games. IMO, his belief in Jimmer made Cousins angry because he wanted his BFF, IT, to play. Plus, Cousins was jealous that Jimmer was the fan favorite. So, we move onto Keith Smart. Smart, IMO, has been racist ever since he was teammates with Steve Alford. Smart got little to no credit for that great Indiana team, while the good looking white player, Alford, was the bell of the ball. Therefore, Jimmer is reduced to only garbage minutes and DNP-CD a majority of the time. Malone was afraid to lose his team, so he sat Jimmer, too.
Jimmer, IMO, if given the opportunity, could lead a team to the playoffs as the starting PG. This just goes to show, you can be good enough, but you may never get a chance to prove it.
