Wow, I didn't think they'd bring him back after signing all their bigs. That's a very nice frontcourt rotation. Lakers definitely all the bigs they can get after the injury bug hit everyone from Gasol to Kaman to Hill to R Kelly last season..

Here's the current roster:

PG: Lin | Nash | Clarkson
SG: Kobe | Young
SF: Johnson | Henry
PF: Boozer | Randle | Kelly
C: Hill | Davis | Sacre

If they get into the playoffs, it is a wrap. I see another ring.

I hope Kobe is healthy and back to his 25 ppg self so I can enjoy every game the Lakers lose.

One things for sure, we have a lot of depth, no superstars. Lol

Good thing is a lot of those guys were starting for us last year, and now they'll be on the bench, playing bench players. And another year together, another year to grow together.

But hopefully we can swing a mid season deal for some draft picks or better players.

Maybe package a couple bigs for a player from a team who's needing help up front

Our team is loaded with quality bench players.

I'm serious. Another year of experience and with Kobe back, they will be no slouch.

A Kobe led team is always in contention.

Kendal Marshall had spot in the roster. LA waived him

At first I thought so too, but then I realized Randle playing as the backup 4 in his first season behind Boozer will help him learn and grow a lot about the position in the NBA. Boozer is still an effective starter in this league. His minutes were diminished last year for Gibson. Boozer is still a great rebounder. But the main reason I would put him up front is because he fits better with Jordan Hill.

Randle and Hill would clog the lane too much since both aren't yet reliable jump shooting bigs. Boozer is pretty effective in the midrange, much like Kaman was for the Lakers last season.

We definitely need to get rid of Nash and fill it up with somebody better.

agreed with boozer starting. if and when randle does start, it should be because he earned that spot in practice and on the court. the kids only 19, and even if he doesnt start, he'll still be getting valuable minutes all season. nba seasons are LONG. players get hurt. so he may end up starting by default at some points in the year.

watching randle in summer league really makes some of his flaws apparent. so learning from boozer for a year will only help him.

Kobe will need to play at his '06 level to get this team to 30 wins this year.

Wasn't Kelly in the top 10 of last year's NBA ROY ladder?

Averaged 8/4/2 with 0.8 bpg in 22 mpg, which is nice for a rookie

he has a nice skillset and he can shoot the ball, had some 20+ point games and even a 24 & 11 game when he was given starter's minutes, good guy to have off the bench next to Swaggy P & Randle, IMO.
