I could be wrong, but I am looking at the Eastern Conference, and I have this strong hunch that the Wizards are going to come out of the gate on fire.

Let me say this, the Wizards lost the to the Pacers in the 2nd round last year. But anybody who watched the series saw the Wizards built 20 point leads on the Pacers repeatedly, and because of inexperience and a terrible bench gave up the lead two games in a row. It was a more talented team losing due to inexperience and bad decision making.

Overall last year, the Wizards had two huge weaknesses, a terrible bench and they didn't have a closer in the clutch. I believe they had the most overtime games in the league last year and lost most of them. Paul Pierce, meanwhile, was #3 in the league in clutch 3-pointers last year. A welcome addition.

The bench this year? We are talking about Andre Miller/Paul Pierce/Kris Humphries/Dejuan Blair. I actually think this is a team that would now make the playoffs in the Western Conference. That is the bench. Your starting line up is Wall/Beal/Porter/Nene/Gortat.

So essentially in the Eastern Conference, you have a top 4 PG, a top 4 SG, a top 4 PF, and a top 4 C. And now you have a good bench? Really?

They have offense, defense, and I think both Wall and Beal are going to be better last year after having tasted the playoffs. Otto Porter has been doing great in summer league. No reason to think he doesn't have a good year.

They will have a top 3 backcourt in the league, but how about the frontcourt. Now you have a big man rotation of Nene/Gortat/Humphries/Blair. Let's be real, who else is that deep on big man in the East?

I could horribly wrong, but based on talent, the Wiz have a solid shot at the being the best team in the East.

Said it earlier this month, Wall and Beal are both gonna take huge steps forward. Wall already kinda did it this past year, he's gonna fully break out this upcoming season. Especially Beal though, I think he's gonna go from a 16-17ppg scorer to a consistent all-star caliber player.

If Nene stays healthy, Pierce doesn't fall off, and Porter can step in and contribute (he's looked pretty damn good in SL), anything can happen. Chicago and Cleveland could be juggernauts in the East but that all remains to be seen and is far from a certainty.

Damn, didn't think the Wizards would get this overrated. But whatever, let them get their shine, it's good for them. Hope they do their part and live up to the hype.

Not too far-fetched if Pierce can remain healthy and Wall keeps developing.

Not sold on wall making more strides but I love beal and the Paul pierce move

I think they'll end up the 3rd seed

I think they make the ECF. At least 2nd round.

They are a 50-win team now. But #1 seed? Nah. Too optimistic, lets wait for the first part of 14/15 season.

They are a 50-win team now imo. But #1 seed? Nah
50+ wins seems about right.

If Wall turns out right they gon be scary.

Arguably top 4 this, top 4 that...then they'll finish arguably Top 4.

Bulls have the East on lock. Cavs have 0 experience and will take years before all those young, inexperienced players learn to win in the Playoffs.

Pacers lost their best player from last seasons playoffs and the HEAT are broken. No one takes them seriously.

Raptors might regress to the mean as I don't see sky is the limit potential from Jonas and derozan this season compared to what they were able to do last year.

Their front court will be getting long in the tooth very soon. I see their run as being pretty short, and I don't see them being the number one seed this year either. The MIGHT hit 50 wins.

no pun intended

If Bulls stay healthy, I don't see the Wizards passing them.

Anyhow, I love me some Wiz.

I'm thinking 4th or 3rd seed. Most will probably disagree, but I think the Pacers win 50+ games this year.

What's going to be worse is their bench. I don't think I've seen a bench this overrated in terms of being a prediction for #1 seed.

I don't disagree, but tell that to Bulls fans...

2014-2015 is finally going to be the year when people realize just how silly comparing Dion Waiters to Bradley Beal really is. I expect the Wiz to have a great year.
