Yesterday it had made its way to the front page news on ESPN, reported by Chris Broussard (http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11232868/cleveland-cavaliers-minnesota-timberwolves-talking-trade-involving-kevin-love-andrew-wiggins-anthony-bennett).

Basically, a dude posed as a T-Wolves player development assistant, and then fed the insider false information. Here is the confession:

If wiggins and Bennett both pan out than move looks bad on Cavs end..honestly if it was not for Lebron and keeping him happy and wanting to win now I would just hold on to those two and let young team grow up together. With that said Lebron + love + Irving + waiters is a sweet core and nice role players in TT ,Andy V ,mike Miller , Dely ect..

Exactly, Minnesota literally has NO leverage whatsoever. Love is gone one way or another, it's worth it to actually get some pieces in return, let alone a no.1 draft pick.

Wiggins/Bennet plus a first rounder is a lot to pay. The problem with the Cavs is probably that Lebron, his team, and his agent (that represents Thompson) are probably saying that TT is off limits. Otherwise Thompson would be included in this trade as the Wolves need a power forward to replace Love.

So...that is it's own issue. If TT is actually off the table and he's going to kept long term by the Cavs because of the off court relationships...then that is even a bigger incentive to get this deal done. That last thing you want is ****ing TT keeping you from getting a big free agent next year. If Love is already there...they can make it work.



Like I keep saying. If you have to do it...you do it, but it's not ideal. Dieng has to come back though. If they end up giving up Wiggins/Bennet...they better get back Dieng...and potentially a future pick as well.

this Cavs team is in trouble going forward regardless though if TT is staying and getting like 10 plus million a year. that is going to be tough...

Rovell wrote a whole story about it without ever actually meeting the kid or doing any legitimate due diligence to confirm what the kid was saying.

But Thompson + Bennett or 2 1sts should be enough.

I don't know man...Marc Stein was reporting it on SportsCenter today. He's pretty damn good.

I'm right there with you on the deal not making sense...but Stein, a day later, reporting it gives it some weight in my mind.

I like the above deal. Definitely think it's better than the GSW offer. Hopefully that gets it done. Cavs should still get Dieng back as well in my opinion. Not a deal breaker if they can't, but that is still a huge haul for Love. 3 first round picks and the first and 4th pick in recent drafts? Shit...still twice as good as what the Nuggets got for Melo. I'd be surprised if the Wolves weren't trying hard to get Martin in that deal as well. That would be something I'd insist on if I was them...or at least Brewer/Buddinger. I'd insist on one of them going.
