So, just like any normal first year college student (about to start my 2nd year in August), I have been flip-flopping my major ever since starting college. At first I was dead set on becoming an Engineer, Mechanical in specific. After my first 2 semesters, I grew more and more interested in possibly earning a Computer Systems or Computer Engineering degree instead, thinking that line of work better suited me. And then I stumbled onto this - IT Management. I have been doing a lot of research on it and the type of jobs people seem to do with this degree sound wonderful, my cup of tea really. Also, the classes I have taken up to date cover 4/6 of the prereqs required to start going for my AA in IT management and eventually transferring to USF to complete my Bachelors.

The classes also seem to be much easier than any Engineering type of degree, what with most of them being intro classes. To me it seems like this degree wants you to know a little bit about a lot of subjects, which imo would make school much more interesting at the same time.

I found this page where it explains what the degree is preparing students for and the type of jobs available for graduates (which I might add, pays damn good, even better than Engineering). http://businessmajors.about.com/od/degreeoptions/a/Should-I-Earn-An-Information-Technology-Management-Degree.htm

Does anyone have any experience with this degree, did anyone here finish it? Or at least have some knowledge in this field? Is it too good to be true, is it worth it for me to go through 100 more credit hours to complete this degree?

HELP ME ISH

Might as well get a political science degree because it's all politics where the most important thing is "Does that person like you"

other than that good luck in your future endeavors lol

Median wage of a political science major is far below that of an IT management major, I don't see why I would do that..

Because to succeed in IT management you have to be a skilled politician. Doesn't matter if you make $120k your first year...if you don't know how to schmooze the right people they kick you to the curb simple as that
