The idea was that the Lakers would let him go and re-sign him for cheaper but since he got offered, that's obviously out now.

Decent. If ship OJ Mayo's fat ass somewhere else, this is a decent offseason. Got our future 1-2 punch, a coach that has placed Jabari & Giannis' development as the #1 priority, a decent developing PG rotation with Wolters and Marshall, and Henson has reportedly put on a bunch of muscle this summer. Should be a 20-25 win team next year, another good pick.

Oh, I had no idea the Lakers were actually planning to get him back.

OJ Mayo for Gerald Wallace?
Possibly, is he an expiring contract?

They expire the same year.
No one wants Mayo's contract, since it is 8 million being thrown down the toilet.
Might just have to wait until it expires, so next year the Bucks can use the stretch provision.

Is Knight sticking to SG? Bucks getting Bayless too...
side question - what's up w/ Udoh? Bucks re-signing him?

Kidd seems to like Knight from what he's been saying, so what we're probably gonna end up doing is starting him at PG...which I'm not really a fan of, considering Wolters and Marshall are both actual point guards. He'd defend opposing PGs, but the actual ball handling and playmaking duties on offense would be mostly on Giannis. We're gonna lose games because of Giannis' inexperience, but he's got better vision than anyone else on our team (except probably Marshall) and it'll be good for him to develop those skills. After this Bayless move, we're probably gonna try hard to trade Mayo and Ersan.
I think Udoh's gone, and we have enough young depth in the FC to not really care. The Clippers were interested in him IIRC.

I like Udoh... but yeah, Bucks got a nice big rotation w/ Henson, Sanders, Zaza, and Ilyasova. Heck, even JOB3 (is that a nickname for him? lol)
But speaking of the full frontcourt, is Giannis and Parker expected to start from day 1 for max expedited development? Or only when they got their small ball line up? It'd make sense to trade Ilyasova like you said, just to free up some more rotation mins. But would Parker play the 4? Giannis grew 2" this summer, too, right? Could he be a 6'11" 2G?

If they can keep Larry Sanders healthy maybe they will be able to win 25~30 games.
noob cake

No, he is a very serviceable shooter. His problem is that that, on his best days, he is slower than 40 year old Steve Nash. Literally can't guard any NBA player a at all. Even got burned by just about every college point guard at North Carolina.

Yeah, they said after the draft they're looking to start Giannis at the 3 in a point-forward role and Jabari at the 4 similar to Melo when he plays PF. I hope Jabari trims down to 235 so we can bring him to SF and start Henson/Sanders together. Giannis is 6'11" but he's quick/agile enough to play SG. All in all we could have a Knight-Giannis-Jabari-Henson-Sanders lineup. Nothing great right now, but that lineup has a lot of potential down the road.

I wouldn't downplay it. In that East, it won't surprise me if Bucks sneak in the playoffs. I mean who knows. Kidd has shown he's a solid-to-good coach after he fired Franks and took full reins ...but that Nets roster had more proven talent, admittedly.

honestly wouldn't be surprised if he struggles with the Bucks and doesn't have the same stats he did at Phoenix and Lakers. I like the guy, and if he can produce the same as he did last season, I can see Parker and Henson having good seasons.

That team is full of shitty contracts, I don't think think they can do anything else than wait for them to expire, only Ilyasova might be movable, fcker got overpaid after playing great in the contract year. OJ Mayo is total trash, Sanders is cancer and yet they are going nowhere for a long time. And to think everyone expected them to make the playoffs last year.

If Mo was willing to take the minimum deal, he would get picked up. Instead teams are looking for the value deals on their smaller leve guys
