View Full Version : I dont get the Kobe'' killer mentality'' myth

livinglegend

The guy disappeared in game 7s multiple times.
His clutch stats are below average - mediocre.
Spent a good portion of his career as a 2nd option.
Going off on lottery teams like Raptors = killer mentality?

Kobe really showed his killer mentality and clutch genes when he went 6-24 in the biggest of his career.

The idiots on this forum believe taking dumb shots at the end of games = killer instinct. :oldlol: There is a reason they are called Kobetards! :lol

i believe his clutch stat(shots at the end of the game with 5 seconds or less when the game they're down by 1-2 or tied, or something like that) is 25%.

no matter how you spin it, that straight up sucks *ss.

you know what else i dont get? reggie miller with the reputation of being one of the clutchest players in history. dude never won a title. sorry, you can be called clutch because you hit a few memorable clutch shots, but you cant be called one of the clutchest ever if you've never won a title.

or how about jerry west? dude went something like 1 for 9 in the nba finals. and whats his nickname? Mr. Clutch. sorry, i dont buy it. failing to deliver on the biggest stage year after year is not exactly my definition of clutch. it may be to some people, but not me.

Just out of curiosity what are Kobe's stats in his other game 7s? The 6-24 we obviously know, but I'm curious about others.

To be honest, Kobe does have a killer mentality. Yeah, he sucks in the clutch, but he gives it all he's got... so he doesn't have killer ability, but the mentality is definitely there.

Kobe in the clutch is like that short dude who gets beer muscles. He's aggressive and cocky as hell, and is a loose cannon who will start a fight at the drop of a hat to try and prove himself. And then he'll proceed to lose nine out of those ten fights.

Op, it's ok if you don't get it. Most of kids don't get it.

There is a reason why kobe was always feared to take the last second shots, regardless of what the stats says. There's a reason why kobe is often referred to being cut from the same cloth as mj and bird. Oh and it's not the people on message boards claiming these either but his fellow nba players, coaches and peers.

Never understood it either..As a Laker hater I am always glad when Kobe has the ball at the end of a game..When I see this I know there is a very small chance that the Lakers will get a good shot and are most likely about to lose..Fact...
