Out of all the GOAT's, who hit and who missed their first NBA/ABA shot ?

Something I was was pondering the other day whilst watching Summer League... Wiggins hit a nice jump shot as his first bucket and I thought to myself "what was Jordans first NBA bucket like? What was Barkleys and Malones first NBA bucket like? Was Kareems first bucket a sky-hook per chance? Did Wilt slam it down or just lay it in?" and thought it'd be good subject matter for on here

I don't have time to pilfer through game records and film footage to get the answers but it's something someone on here might enjoy doing ... maybe ... :confusedshrug:

anyone able to shed light on this or am I alone in pondering this? :hammerhead:

EDIT: Also, from the GOAT players list, who missed their first NBA attempt and who managed to nail their first ever NBA/ABA attempt?

[QUOTE]At age twenty-one, Jordan was bursting with anticipation to play that first game on Friday, October 26, 1984, against the Washington Bullets in the creaky old Stadium. There were none of the laser shows that marked his pregame introductions later. Instead, he came onto the court that first time accompanied only by the strains of Michael Jackson

I'll see what I can find on Wilt and Kareem, maybe someone else has something on the other two you mentioned (Barkley and Malone).

I see jlip nailed Shaq/Kareem, couldn't find anything about Wilt's first attempt, but here's the article from his first game:

http://www56.zippyshare.com/v/87637365/file.html

Nothing about his first attempt as far as I can tell, sorry about that.

"One thing I can tell you for sure about LeBron James after watching the first quarter of his first post-high school game: Get an NBA All-Star jersey ready for the kid. He nailed his first three shots, all baseline jumpers, including a 20- foot fallaway over the reach of 7-footer Brad Miller.

:applause: :applause: good show, young Bron

"LeBron James proved without a doubt that he has the physical skills as well as actual basketball ability to eventually become an elite superstar in this league. Even if LeBron's shots don't fall, as sometimes they may not, he's a scorer who can get to the rim and make things happen. LeBron's passing ability is fantastic and he already understands how to get the ball to teammates at the right time. He's a raw superstar in the making. The hype was deserved." yep, day 1 in the NBA and he was switched on to beast mode, a truly fantastic player, completely under-rated by most casual fans and observers

True, my bad, meant to add "televised" for MJ... Can't find the 1st half of it, that was the 2nd already.

Also helps to get drafted by a good team though, with a good PG to learn from and a top3 GOAT still in his prime as the #1 option/leader, matter of fact Kareem hit a gamewinner at the buzzer in that same game (Magic's first), iconic mid-range skyhook.
Player like MJ didn't "have" that.

very true ... is this the same NBA game where Magic goes wild in celebrating the game winner with Kareem and Kareem is like "man, it's just 1 game" yet Magic still celebrates as if he's won the championship? :lol

Young Shaq's free throw form was so much smoother than his one handed Lakers one.
