Deal #1:
Bargniani and Smith for Eric Gordon
Deal #2:
Amare and Shumpert for Greg Monroe
This would leave the Knicks with the following lineup:
Calderon / Prigioni / Larkin
Gordon / Hardaway / Ellington / Brown
Carmelo / Early / Adetokunbo
Monroe / Tyler
Dalembert / Smith / Aldrich
Both Gordon and Monroe need a change of scenery and they'd be a nice fit in the triangle. It leaves the bench looking really thin and takes them out of the 2015 FA sweepstakes but Monroe and Gordon are still young and could grow into really good 2nd and 3rd options.

Haha bunch of losers still. No winning mentality from not one player in that lineup.
Another first round exit.

Yeah, I'm sure Detroit wants to take on the Knicks trash.

Gordon to the Knicks. I strongly support this move. :applause:

The only plus is that they get younger. But even then, you still get no better defensively, probably worse since your best wing defender is gone now. Monroe (who I doubt they would get from that trade anyways) and Gordon fit the triangle, but that team wouldn't stop anybody from scoring.
If the entire East is healthy, the Knicks at best would be a middle of the pack team. They still would struggle to make the playoffs. It would remind me (sorta) of the 07/08 Knicks.

No way Detroit does that trade, and no way Gordon stays healthy for a whole season.
Even if both happen, they're still a 45-50 win team, and that's assuming Fisher is a good coach right off the bat. They'd be in the lower end of the Wizards-Raptors-Hornets tier. Serious threat to make the 2nd round, maybe.

They have a hole at the 2 and if Monroe wants out they could use a one year rental of Amare to fill in that spot.
Jennings
Shump
Smith
Amare
Drummond
is not a bad starting 5. If anything you can flip Shump and Hardaway since they could use a shooter.

Shumpert is a bum. I'm sure they can get better than him.

No neither of those guys can make this team a a championship contender so to lose that flexibility isnt worth it.
Gordon isnt worth the risk.

True but the 2015 FA class is not looking too good right now. Aldridge will be back with portland. Marc Gasol will be 30 and I wouldn't want to throw big money at him. The only remaining suspects are Rondo and Love. The Knicks don't seem to be on Love's radar so I wouldn't get my hopes up and Rondo wouldn't be the best fit.
I really think Monroe just needs a change of scenery and the guy is made for the triangle. Gordon's health might be a concern but he's worth a gamble, especially since he only has 2 years left on his contract.

Still doesnt justify wasting money on players that arent part of the championship solution. Gordon for me is definitely a no go. If he was an expirer I'd consider adding him. Monroe solid player but how much would he command?

The first trade would be a terrible deal for the Knicks. The second isn't possible under the rules.
The only move to try and contend now is amare + a group of shumpert, Hardaway, Larkin, thanassis, cleanthony, Ellington for a guy like love, gasol, Larry sanders, or josh smith.

If you were my GM and pulled this off, I would kiss your feet as a Knicks fan.
