Celtics receive Amar'e Stoudemire, Andrea Bargnani, Knicks 2015 1st round pick and Spurs 2017 1st round pick.

Knicks receive Rajon Rondo, Gerald Wallace, Keith Bogans and Joel Anthony.

Spurs receive Tim Hardaway, Jr.

Celtics get two huge expirings to tank all the way to the #1 pick, along with the Knicks 1st round pick this year which can be packaged with the Clippers pick to get a higher pick, and the Spurs 1st round pick in 2017, a year when the Cs only have one 1st round pick, and a year when Duncan and Manu will be retired and Parker will be 35.

Knicks fulfill Melo's wish to get a better team by getting one of the best PGs in the league, Rajon Rondo, who will definitely help them be contenders in the East and two expiring contracts in Bogans and Anthony, but will have to take back Gerald Wallace's contract for two years.

Spurs do this deal to make the best team in the league, get even better, with a great young scorer in Tim Hardaway, Jr. who can light it up in short bursts off the bench.

As much as I wanna get rid of Amare and Bargnani's contracts, I don't want to lose another 2 first round picks. I say 2 because Timmy Hardaway Jr. is basically a 1st round pick, and he is almost already proven. Can't do it, even though I like Rondo.

Awful.

Knicks can't trade their '15 pick. I would probably accept that return, though - cap savings, picks.

We'd also have 5 Power Forwards on the roster too #tank

As a Knicks fan, this is AWFULLLLL trade. We get a PG even though we already have Jose Calderon, give away THJR and a 1st rounder, AND f-ck up our cap space for 2015, and now can't get Marc Gasol.

Trade couldn't be any worse...plus I can't stand Rondo.

Buh bye.

Phil Jackson hangs up the phone really fast.

Philadelphia already asked for picks for our expirers, and Knicks said no.

As in, Philly trades picks for Amar'e etc? Or picks + Amar'e for X from Philly?

Pretty certain Knicks can't trade a pick until 2018 anyway as they've already traded 2016 to Toronto (?)

Even if everything was reasonable and worked, I'm still not sure Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher would be all that into Rondo. The triangle has always had a preference for shooting PGs. Rondo, for as good a player as he is, would have a lot of his strengths minimized, and his weaknesses would be glaring in that system.

I wasn't convinced they were going to run the triangle. But reading the NY news, it sounds like they've at least told Melo that they intend to run him at the center of the triangle. And they've run a shitload of it in the Summer League.
They've already started to make the roster look more like you'd expect for that alignment. Calderon is Great with a capital G shooter, in spite of all of his other warts. He'll space, and he doesn't make many mistakes. And I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Bargnani get a bunch of C minutes just because he'll pull a big defender away from the triangle, ala Bill Wennington.

I think Knicks would rather keep THJ than get a 25-30th pick for him. Stupid to even include the Spurs.

You can't trade Rondo for Bargnani. Just, no. I veto this deal. I'd rather just see him walk.
Knicks can get Rondo next year anyway for free.
If by "free" you mean a hundred million dollars then, sure.
Rondo in the triangle? :facepalm
There probably isn't a worse system for him in basketball.

Gringos we have found someone that has the ability to make worse trade scenerios than you. I really didnt think it was possible but this has to take the the championship cake.

These guys summed it up nicely.
