-Need degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math). Masters minimum, phD recommended
-Trained to fly some sort of aircraft
-Gotta be in tip-top physical shape
-No big medical issues -- i.e. if you have heart problems or something, forget it
-Gotta be mentally stable. You get tested by psychiatrists.
-You go through basic training (i.e. trained underwater with a astronaut suit on) and military-level scuba diving lessons -- being in space is very similar to being underwater
-Basic training is followed by some in-depth training specific to learning how to use tools in space, etc for astronauts. I think you also have to learn how to pee+defecate in space -- I think it takes much longer to go to the bathroom in space. Just a drop of flying urine can puncture holes in wall. All of that requires training to learn
That's it!

Sounds interesting. Too much requirements. I think they max out all the degrees at PhD. They wouldn't take someone at masters when they could find someone at PhD. Everything is a bar higher.

You have to be shorter than 6'3 or you won't be selected.

I heard it was 6'3 or 6'4. I can't remember.
And had to be taller than 5 foot or something.

Yeah I heard 6'4 not much difference though really and yeah there's minimum height too. They pretty much monitor everything in your body and I remember reading once that every year they take something like 8000 applicants and only 6-10 are accepted.
