Unless a deal is in place for Rondo... not sure what the Celtics are doing. Seems like a lot of average-ish players

Turner was signed with part of the MLE, more like a tryout rather than the Celtics looking to build with Turner.

Looks like they are just gonna tank again. They need to get rid of Rondo though, sad to have a start wasted on a lottery team.

poor, poor turner. had he not been traded to indy, a team may have offered him a decent enough contract due to the numbers he put up in PHI. but once teams saw how he played on a competent NBA team, those offers vanished.

That's a lot of ball dominant players without a jumper. Wade to Celtics next?

I remember how everyone, including myself, thought that Indiana had the title - or at least the EC championship - on lock after the Turner/Granger trade. Oh boy...

I love watching him play when he is confident and gets it going but he needs the ball to be productive and he is not that good to be your first ball handler.

He makes no difference. None. Ainge is stockpiling average players for no discernable reason beyond tanking. Another year of watching other teams for me.

Pretty much this. His time in Indy literally obliterated his stock value. Millions were lost due to his inability to gel with that roster...

He's 6'7"...so I'm trying to convince myself that Jeff Green is on the trading block here. Evan Turner is just one move among many. That's the only way this makes sense unless we're tanking again.

I don't like talking in this way about a human being as it's a bit insensitive but what kind of "asset" is the Pacers' fourth best (or whatever) guard? His trade value will peak when his contract is set to expire.

He was a #2 pick a while back, so he still will have some kind of interest throughout his career. He'd probably be a sweetner to a deal if anything.

I'm just talking like how Ainge talks. :confusedshrug:

I think they're aiming for Jordan Crawford, and to be honest, if they can squeeze a couple of 2nd rounders out for him it's worth doing.

From a playing time standpoint though, I don't really see where he's getting any with the currently constructed roster. At the 2/3, Bradley, Young and Green should be getting more minutes, and I'm not totally convinced he's better than Wallace (who is gash but doesn't shoot, so it increases shots for the young guys).

I can see him being our scorer off the bench, idk I'm fine with it, as long as Rondo doesn't get traded......
Off the bench you already have Marcus Smart and not you add another ball dominant guy with no jumpshot.

Also Gerald Wallace

Celts are going to have one of those "deep" teams where the second unit is on par with the first but the first unit is almost always worse than the opponent's. 25-30 wins.

BlackWhiteGreen

Wallace ball dominant? He took about 3 shots a game last year. He'll be benched for Young anyway, or should be.

ie one of those teams ripe to make a trade... I just don't see who the player they can trade for is

I might be going high with Smart's defense. But I expect that as well as the addition of Turner to make up more than just having depth. but a good defensive team over all.

They also got gift wrapped Tyler Zeller from the Cavs.

That's 3 1st round pick in terms of addition in one off-season instead of 3.

Life ain't fair, but yeah. That team was a wreck. No one was gelling not even their all star c. Turner needs to stick somewhere. Its gonna be a shame if he never gets to develop into an integral part of a team cuz they keep trading him. Imo low money Turner is a steal. He's not injury prone and can ball, but indy did shit on his stock.

I think Turner's a good player to have on a team with a lot of scorers/shooters. He would have been a great fit for the Lakers. Would also be nice with the Kings. Not sure where/how he fits with the Celtics. But Boston does have a lot of trade-able assets right now, with Rondo, Green, and Wallace. Ainge will certainly make some sort of move with two, if not all three, of those guys.

He's not a bad player. He just didn't fit on the Pacers. He is a natural ISO player. That's a great thing to be in the right system, just didn't work for him in Indiana.

Pelicans got Asik for a pick. Monroe is a RFA.

Plus over the last 4 years there's obviously been more.

Yeah, could have had Asik, Monroe is out of our price range.

There has, but really, how many were realistically available? May as well let Zeller and Olynyk try out there for a while.

he would have cashed in on a great year on a bad team if he stayed in philly and his decent scoring average
