...in every other sport, newer talent is on par with older talent but when it comes to basketball, Jordan is still untouchable. I mean damn, you got a guy that's been retired all this time and current talent can't even match the shit he was doing at 40 years old!

What current NBA player has come close to doing a 2 handed chase down block, pinning it on the back board, and then coming down with it? Such a display of athleticism and control.

I mean Faried tried but looks uncoordinated as shit bobbling the damn ball around, whereas MJ was all fluid and Faried was what, 20 years younger?

Damn that's sad.

As I said in favorite mj moment thread, that block was the most mind blowing one for me cuz... ive never seen it and mj was supposed to be old. That was a true son moment.

the older NBA was almost a completely different game so it's hard to compare players across eras.

Defenses could actually touch and breathe on offensive players back then and the 3pt shot wasn't utilizied anywhere near as much now so guys like Jordan didn't have the spacing that stars do today.

In the 98 finals, Jazz were pretty much favourite to win.

Barry Bonds is only a year younger than MJ. Wayne Gretzky's just 2 years older.

GOAT gonna GOAT.

The GOAT played in an era dominated by bigs and is more physical and tougher than today. Guards today are lucky they don't have to deal with handchecking and physicality that MJ and other guards during that era has dealt with. Prime MJ in today's soft era would easily average 40ppg.
