31 of them coming in 4th quarter, and OT with Kobe all over him trying to guard him.

I saw Smush Parker on him most of those plays.
Also, Gilbert was amazing back then.
Also, shut your fat face.

Did I watch the same video? A majority of those points were scored with Kobe not guarding him.
Whatever. Great game, though.

maybe kobe asked for not guarding him, cause he was scared, didnt want to be abused by arena. however, the few times he guarded him are funny:applause: :applause: especialliy the and1 and in the crunch-time:applause:
but i have to admit: kobe s team.....a bunch of superlosers

I don't see these clowns in the "Kobe dropped 55 on Stackhouse err 40 year old Jordan" thread. Kobe guarded Arenas for the majority of that 4th, and OT. No shame in trying to play defense, but he did get lit up.

This shit is retarded as a measuring stick. No one person can ever contain an all-time scorer. Shaq, Kobe, Jordan, Wilt, Bird, etc.
18 year old Dirk Nowitzki dropped 52 on Pippen in the early-mid 90's. :facepalm

Your basketbal sensibilities are offended by this thread, but not "Kobe dropping 55 on Jordan" ... when actual context is included? Right. Pretty selective, and being a Kobe stan I know you saw that thread as well.
I never said Kobe dropped those points on Jordan.
And everyone knows Jordan's age when he played with the Wizards.

Why aren't you all butt hurt in that thread in utter defensive mode? This thread wasn't meant to troll. Kobe arguably had a better all around game. It was meant to show the hypocrisy. The stans in that thread cheering, in this thread jeering saying take context into account. Only difference is Kobe actually guarded Arenas, and Arenas actually dropped a number of buckets on Kobe. The same cannot be said for 24 year old Kobe and his 55 point game against 40 year old Jordan's Wizards.
Hibachi!!.. And Gilbert is still getting paid! $20+ mil!

This thread wasn't meant to troll. .
ummm.. yes it was. haha
you could justify your reasoning's behind this all you want, but fact is, the way you presented this thread, it was made to "troll" kobe fans.
no harm; no foul, though.

it is funny that guys like Arenas (60) Houston (53) Marbury (50) scored career high against the Lakers. Still amazed how many All Defensive First Team dude got.
has anyone ever scored that many points against Jordan in his prime? :facepalm

I remember that game. Even though we lost, it was a super fun game to watch. Bynum was super skinny back then too.
Kobe was playing on one knee..
Yeah, he probably hurt one of his knees trying to guard Goatbert. :oldlol:

What I see is that for most of the game is that Smush Parker and Jordan Farmar were his primary defenders and they allowed him to get red-hot going into the fourth quarter and overtime.
By the time Kobe switched over to him, Agent Zero was already red-hot and Kobe's defense could do nothing too cool is hot shooting hand. Give Gilbert Arenas credit for a great game.

Its really not that big of a deal. Arenas averaged close to 30ppg that season so he was basically destroying everybody.

shows how many 10 year olds are on this forum. theres a reason gilbert arenas made nearly 25 mill last year not even playing a single game
at the time when arenas dropped that 60 he was the 2nd best scorer in the nba
he was averaging 29.3ppg in 2006 and 28.4ppg in 2007
he was a stud before his injuries
jameer saying he was a scrub.. other guys using rolling LOL faces at the thought of gilbert arenas being able to go off for 60...
yeah.. he was sick as ****
dude signed a 111 million dollar contract over 6 years.
i'l admit it was a bad game defensively for kobe. but with the way gilbert scores ( which is all streak shooting from 40 feet ) i doubt anyone could have stopped him that night
gilbert and tmac had similar careers. both were nearly as talented offensively as some of the greatest to ever play but their careers were cut short due to major injuries. give the men some credit

He outplayed Arenas big time in the next match up if I recall correctly.
Arenas was on absolute fire, some of his shots that he was making was like damn, can't believe that shit's in.

The all-merciful Kobe wanted Arenas to have his moment of glory before he intimidated him after the game into having a ringless career.

Bruce Bowen, the most one-dimensional player in NBA history, dropped 27 points on him in a playoff game. Kobe's defense has always been overrated and shitty.
