Monster Mash

Also one of the few NBA players to spend their money wisely. Dude is a g off the court. Arguably better than he was as a player.

I remember thinking that Mashburn-Kidd-Jackson core was really going to be something great.

Jamal Mashburn earned more than $75 million before his career was cut short by a serious knee injury. But he has put together a powerful post-basketball business dossier which includes 37 Papa John’s pizza restaurants, 30 Outback Steakhouses, two car dealerships and a real estate company in the state of Kentucky.

Yeah here's an excerpt about his financial success off the court.

He actually dropped like 25 on Pippen.

Still great. Just not 50 on Pippen.

You talk to his wife, or you are his wife? I'm sure Larsa has to make the money in that family. Pippen can't be trusted with it. He makes absolutely horrendous decisions.

Scottie wasn't that good of a man defensive player. He'll in 93 Mj was choose by coaches has the best defender.

He was good, but MJ was great. Pippen was more versatile, MJ was the better on ball defender. I remember in 1998 when Grant Hill was BUSTING Pippen's ass, and it was coming down to crunch time. MJ switched up onto him and locked him up for Scottie.
Mj had to guard Magic 70% of the time in 91 while scoring 31,11,6,2. People forget Mj guard ed Isaiah Thomas in the 90 series and he shot horrible with him sticking him something like 37%. Even through MJ was doing the heavy lifting in that series Pip forget to show up for game 7 along with all of his other team mates:applause:

Honestly, the list of players that straight up disrespected Pip is not a good look.

i remember this game... mash was so slick with it.

underrated all-time scoring ability.

this kind of scoring ability really doesn't exist in today's game because the 3-point shooting and subsequent spacing allows for the expectation of an open shot on every play - so guys don't need Mashburn-type ability to score ON defenders anymore - instead, guards only need to be 3-and-D as opposed to the cadillac shot-creating shooting guards and SF's we used to have (i.e. drexler.. reggie lewis)... and bigs only need to be D-and-Dunk bigs, as opposed to bigs that created offense for themselves and everyone from the post.

She comes from big money. Johhny Bach mentioned it in the article posted in the other thread.

Mashburn shot 41% vs Pippen and the Bulls for his career. This means nothing more than it was a great game by Mashburn.

Its not as if I couldn't find a game in which any great defender got lit up. Or a game in which a great scorer played poorly offensively.

Isn't that similar to what Pippen did for Jordan in 91 game 2 of the NBA finals?

Mashburn was a good scorer too. Miller had a pair of 40+ games on MJ (also drilled a game winner on MJ in the ECF--although he did push off :oldlol: ), Drexler had a 42/5/9 game and Iverson 44. I wonder if that was the game with the legendary crossover on MJ.

Fun fact: Jamal Mashburn is only 1 of 6 players to average 20ppg+ in their final season.

He had a weird career. He was a big scorer in Dallas, a role player in Miami and then a scorer again in Charlotte.

Charlotte had a good 1-2 punch with Baron Davis and Mashburn. But they were literally never healthy at the same time.

Was this the game in which Jim Jackson scored 38 points? That Maverick teams had some potential.

Grant Hill, Penny, Mashburn, Glenn Robinson, Schrempf, Mullin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZszuAgyCCs) - everyone got theirs on Pippen - Worthy, Kersey, Dumas and Schrempf (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5NMThAlG-g) all got their normal numbers or better on Pippen - Pippen has exactly zero series where he locked someone down as the primary defender.

2014 was before Clutch Sports' started boosting Pippen in the media - all of these great pippen narratives only started around 2016

So that's when I had to set the record straight about Pippen - before that, no one talked about him.. He only became a thing because Clutch was trying to promote Lebron as goat. (hypnotized your ass)

Nah man, that's all in your head. Pippen has always been heavily discussed in the media and in this forum way before 2014. You just became insanely more insecure about MJ's GOAT status as the years went on.
