I agree, we need to get some perspective

Shaq- jumps ship, lazy, average defender who gets out of shape, 6 great years MAX with him

MJ- one dimensional, bad for team chemistry, problem in locker room, needs lots of specialist players to even get out of the 1st round

Duncan- career sidekick player, loses in 1st round to the 8th seed :facepalm, chokes in finals, cant win without getting carried by role players. Basically irrelevant for the last 6 years

LeBron>> all and its not even close

Easy...

1) Jordan
2) Duncan
3) Shaq
4) Lebron

LeBron James is the scrub of this group with only two rings in five NBA finals appearances and he's lucky that it isn't one title out of five appearances.

It's hilarious. Then when you call them on it they'll say he wasn't in his prime. Duncan didn't lose in the first round in his prime, so the whole "he's the only guy who guarantees a second round appearance" narrative is gone.

I guess not. But did LeBron have to face Shaq or Paul Pierce every year?

Help needs to be balanced with competition. Duncan had more help (by a healthy margin), LeBron faced infinitely weaker comp. :confusedshrug:

I acknowledge MJ as GOAT.

But when starting a franchise, even i'd be hard pressed to pick him first over all time great centers, at least in the 80's/90's.

But with the way the game is played now (no handcheck, 3 second rule, offensive fouls called, and with zone), I'll pick MJ.

He was fresh out of high school. If he went to college like 99% of players he would have entered the NBA better than he was straight out of high school. Since he turned 21 it has been 50+ (60% win rate) and the second round at minimum.

How can his two years out of high school be used against him? Kobe, KG were doing nothing in their first two years.

Shaq missed the playoffs twice in his career as a 20 year old rookie and as a 36 year old.
He lost in the first round four times. By the age of barely 22(became 22 right before the playoffs) and 35 onwards.
Both made the finals at roughly the same age and got swept by a former champion(in case of Shaq the reigning one).

Lebron missed the playoffs twice. As a 19 yo rookie and a 20 yo sophomore.

Don't see anything that would swing the argument in any direction.

Shaq won more, but his career is over.

Shaq jumps ship every 2-3 years

Duncan is an average player whos legacy is vastly overrated due to stacked teams

Jordan is a inefficient chucker, cant defend, score as efficiently, pass, rebound like lebron

Lebron is the obvious choice and if you disagree you're a fakkit

Average player he is a top ten all time player. Stacked teams you mean Tony Parker who was drafted 28th and Manu who was drafted in the second round? He also played with Bruce Bowen, Matt Bonner, Steve Kerr, Speedy Claxon, Brent Barry but yeah it was stacked lol.

There's hardly any debate that he's not a top 10 player.

But of course in your pathetic universe the only player in the top 10 is Bran. Everyone else is a scrub. :oldlol:

LeBron has 2 rings in the weakest era of basketball. Dude comes up short almost every time. Provide him with one of the best defenses in the league and a bunch of shooters and you get nothing. Give him two franchise players and he still manages to choke a ring away and give up on the next one.

All good though. LeBron has a lot of time to enter the top 10.

smart people learn from experience.

At age 37/38 Duncan was the best big man on the court in almost every playoff series. He should have won the FMVP in 2013, but Ray bailed out Bron.

We know what happened in 2014 (We'll do it this time)

if you took a 22 year old Duncan/Shaq and put him in today's NBA, it's game over for LeBron. Simple as that.

And Jordan is a tier above Duncan/Shaq. The biggest difference between Jordan and Bron is that Jordan is a great basketball player first and foremost, and then is a great athlete; Bron is a great athlete and a good basketball player.

Jordan's drive to win is the icing on the cake.

2/5 thread.
