View Full Version : Started reading an article on Lebron James 'memory' today...

...the article was headlined on reddit to be something about his memory, so I clicked on it to see if there would be a quick or interesting example of Lebron displaying sharp memory or something like Jerry Lucas or some other gifted basketball minds of the past. I read a few lines and started to realize it was getting really bizarre and long-winded and quite personal, really was making me feel uncomfortable..

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11067098/lebron-james-greatest-weapon-brain

...Scrolled down and saw who wrote it

This dude literally believes he understands the inner workings of Lebron's mind. Does anyone else not find this sh*t unsettling?

That article is so full of garbage. Lebron is a fantastic player. We get it. We know it. But to write such drivel about how he remembers specific plays from 5 years ago to help them win...What is Windhorst doing, some inception shit while Bron is sleeping?

What LeBron should remember while he pushes for a 3rd max player is what happened the last time 3 dudes with huge contracts got together on the same team at the expense of depth.

This guy is pathetic.

He couldn't even break Lebron's return to cleveland, and act like he is a close friend who knows everything about him.

Just the scum of journalism, a creepy stalker. He is the only guy in the entire world who has a job like this.

KBaller33

What's his salary? I don't know if I could do a job like that. It's just weird to me. I'm a LeBron fan but all that is too much. He's pretty much a stalker and has been stalking LeBron since he was a kid. What does he do when LeBron retires?

And to the above post, I agree. If he's so close to LeBron why was he saying Miami was the favorite to keep LeBron literally seconds before the story on SI broke about him coming back to Cleveland?

I remember an article from a long time ago, think it may have been by Woj, not sure. But it was comparing Lebron to MJ's greatness and what they have in common. And he mentions how they both are bow-legged and that somehow makes Lebron's greatness comparable to MJ's.

All in all, it was pretty pathetic. As usual.

Here is the issue with Brian Windhorst. He is quite literally a LeBron fanboy to the extreme, it surpasses healthy and borders on the realm of stalker-ish. Therefore of course Windhorst is going to exaggerate everything LeBron related and at times does it do a level of approaching a full on fallacy, i.e. this article. The real issue is not Windhorst however, it's the people that have given him a voice. That would be the city of Cleveland's The Plain Dealer, ESPN, and finally the people that read his articles. But yes, this guy is pretty sad. He has built his entire career with virtually no journalistic integrity and upon a platform based around one man whom we presume he doesn't even know that well. What happens to Windhorst in 5-8 years when LeBron retires? Do these antics continue? It's just pathetic all around.

And back to the article, this is just absurd. I assume Windhorst is attempting to make LeBron out to be some type of superhero, just like they did with Wilt fighting mountain lions and other stupid shit. LeBron James is nowhere NEAR the smartest player in the NBA, he just has the most powerful voice based on being its greatest player.

FYI LeBron James scored an 870 on the SAT(old scale of 1600)
That's slightly above the mean for african american's and well below it for all races combined.

And why would Lebron James give a **** about doing well on his SAT's when he already knew he'd get drafted out of high school

If he didn't give a fck about the SAT then he would have never taken it or flat out guessed on every answer. Seeing as he scored above 50%, that shows he at least tried. And studying for the SAT will only improve your average slightly as it's generally a test of aptitude.

Not necessarily. Here's the difference. You still get to keep your own guys. So you get to keep who you started w. Maybe Lebron thinks starting w dion waiters, Thompson, and AV is that much better than starting w chalmers and udonis Harlem

I found the article, the quotes to be very interesting. Very impressive if he really can recall things in such a manner. I would be interested to know how it contributes to him being such a good player.

Reminds me of one time when he was being interviewed in the sidelines of an All Star game, and as he responded, his eyes were completely focused on the game, with his eyes darting back and forth.
