It's not as bad as white people dropping their kids at the strip malls with a movie theater, for the rest of the night and then picking them up.
It's like babysitting to them.

9 yr old isn't THAT young, she had house keys 5 min's away....not like everyone can afford a babysitter every time they go to work at McDonalds... the babysitter would cost more than she made in a shift....this stuff kills me :facepalm
i think i was all over the neighborhood at 9 yrs old by myself or with friends rollin on my bike thru empty paths, tott lotts, crossing roads, etc :wtf:
9 yrs old is about 3-4th~ grade? so definitely was not under parental supervision 24/7 at that age.

My Mom used to leave me in the town public library on the weekends while she worked for overtime for a few hours. I was probably in 4th - 6th grade-ish at that time. Turned me into quite the bookworm.
Then I demanded to stay home to play PS, PS2, etc.. from 7th grade on.

My parents didn't drop me off at any park and throw me to the curb while they went to work, but i used to go to the park by myself when i was 9 :confusedshrug:
